Opti-Coat's Dirt Release Properties are Amazing

I'll probably eventually get a Metro, since it sounds like it does have a distinct advantage over the Air Wand. Wish there was a way to use both simultaneously :D

Ill get my hands on Opti-Coat soon enough. I think it is the answer to permanently preventing tarnish/corrosion of emblems on vehicles in an environment with ocean air, around here.

That would definitely be ideal. The only drawback I saw to the Metro unit is the rather small, round opening would make clearing large horizontal panels a bit cumbersome. Throwing an Air Wand on it would take care of that problem, for sure.

I sometimes consider buying a Metro for dog-drying; they sell their various models for all sorts of different jobs and that one piques my interest. Sorta big though, at least their two-motor model.

"Horses for courses" ;) Different tools for different applications IMO. The Metro would subsitute for my air compressor, but not for the AirWand. If you're not using a compressor then sure, that'd be a swell addition.

Dunno how effective the Metro's output would remain when blown into the large-diameter hose for the AirWand

Back on-topic- The rear rotor hats on the S8 have compromised finishes, lots of surface rust keeps busting out (yeah, shoulda had them prepped right before installation but it didn't work out that way).

Next time I kill the rust (the Metal Blast stuff from RustBullet works incredibly well, far better than anything else I've tried in thirty-some years) I might try OptiCoating them...see if that keeps the corrosion in check.

I have a Metro Vac, but the more modest Vac N' Blo I think it's called. I don't know if they use the same strap on different models, but I recommend changing it out. IMO, it's just not heavy duty enough. The clips, well one was twisting, and I waited a little too long to replace it; as I often sort of "throw"/shove the unit behind me when getting into a car interior, it fell off and made the tiniest little ding at the edge of my door sill. I now use a Klein strap, $13. No comparison. I will also say that the dust bag is on the small side, but maybe frequent emptying is not a bad thing.

Accumulator..

OT, but regarding your rotor hats, on my last car (mazda3) I had to paint the hats 'cause of corrosion. Used Dupli-Color caliper paint. Held up great.

Yeah... would be nice if there was a smaller diameter AirWand...

Yeah, that's the coulda/woulda/shoulda here. I usually do stuff like that but on these I want to try preserving the already-trashed finish instead. I actually use caliper paint for hubs/etc. more than I do on calipers (actually, I don't paint calipers, but that's a different topic..).

The strap, and especially the metal loops that it clips to, on the AirWand are utter trash! I gotta replace mine some day when I've nothing better to do.

That would cut down the volume and probably up the velocity. Hmmm...wonder how that'd work out  :nixweiss

Air Wand ought to do well with expanding and improving its product line.

Eh, those [individuals] won't even get their QC up to sorta-OK  Sharp edges, misaligned stuff, so-so hose attachment...I'd rather pay more for a higher-quality product.
