Opti Coat 2.0 guarantee?

Reread the post - ANTI AUTOPIAN capital of the US - because there is money here, people spend it on nice cars, lots of exotics (portland area) but the cars look like xxxx. And don't start me with the quality of the detailers.

Highest capita of exotics in the country last I checked was Miami, FL.

Southern Cal has a number as well.

Just saying

How about just stating that in many Field Trials of the Optimum Coating products, they have been able to last over a year, or many years and eventually wear off through normal washing, car washes, etc.
Also mention that after the coating is applied, the Owner is freed from having to apply anything else to the paint, since it is now fully protected.

I have not yet started selling these products, because I want to see more Field Trial Results after longer than a few years, so I know how to exactly word what I tell my Clients.

Good luck with this !

Well, Portland has tons of exotics and $$$ - and they are driven! But not cared for. When traveling across both states (we took our time) in the summer - you just see normal cars. Same in Vermont. See Oregon is THE capital. :D

You are correct, my friend !

And I may just throw in Washington as a runner-up in the amount of exotic cars that are routinely driven through all the same muck or worse than Oregon has on the West Coast side..

What with Google, Boeing, Starbucks, and Microsoft, just to name a few of the biggies out here, there is plenty of money for geeks to use to buy expensive cars they have no clue on how to maintain - much less wash.

There are a pair of new Lamborghini's down the street from me that go roaring in and out of the neighborhood that have never been washed in months. Geeks do not relate to cleaning well. :)
Ever see the haircuts Gates has? Sad, really sad. :):):)

As it has been proved many times over with professional athletes money doesn't always mean common sense.

Even though this is a permanent coating, I really don’t try to sell it as such. I market it more as a "renewable clear coat" than a permanent protection, becuase we all know very few of our clients take care of their cars like we do.

Forget about a warranty IMO. Instead, educate the customer about the product and highlight the benefits, including that future polishing will remove less OEM paint, since the majority of light swirling and marring will be in the coating. I also like to explain that Opti-Coat offers increased UV protection to replenish the small amount potentially removed during polishing. Don't over sell the product either, as it's not some magical force field and if they continue to go through Swirl-O-Matic car washes they are going to need polishing again very soon.

Just my $.02 :)

The dealerships have an insurance company backing up their warranties. From there wheel protection to paint protection policies. They pay a premium each year and the insurance companies pay for the claims ( lost key fobs, wheel rashes, paint ). There is a bunch of fine writing about correct washes and every six months renewal. The dealerships just make money off the add ons to the price of the car.

I have a customer that all he does is sell these add ons and train salesmen on how to sell them. Its all about the paperwork and warranties.

He did give me a whole box of Permanon and some other product.

Guarantee why would you what to give one? It has it more than you want to handle and you must have the appropiate insurance to cover all the cost involved and you will need a lawyers help also.

Well, let's add it up.

Product $60.00
Application $150.00
Attorney fee to develop a warranty, $10,000.00

No, don't offer a guarantee!

Dont offer a warranty your asking for problems if you do. I remember one of my mobile buddies got on some big "liquid glass" kick and hyped it up to his customers almost to the point where they thought they could have a head on with a semi and it would protect the paint. Then I also remember him getting sued by like 10 people over rock chips and scratches because of his warranty he offered with liquid glass. I still believe this is a great product I use it some times but its far from fail proof as with anything else. I usually recommend something like this to people who just bought a car for their 16 year old(you know its gonna beat on in every way possible) but I dont offer a warranty of any sort too many variables.

Unless the manufacture will guarantee the product in writing and pay for any damages as long you are train to properly use the product. I would stay out of guaranteeing a product but just your workmanship instead.
