Opinions on Applying/Removing KSG with a PC

Even though I use a machine for most everything (even applying paste waxes), I apply KSG by hand. I found that I couldn't get as thin an application as I like when applying it by machine.

I do like to remove KSG (and other LSPs) by machine. I fog the surface with my breath and then buff it with a suede-style MF bonnet at speeed 4-5. I *do* usually have to do a little follow-up by hand though, just to get it perfect.

Thanks for the reply.

I've read somewhere that using a MF bonnet helps spread the KSG thin, but I've never tried it. Guess I'll forget that idea.

Do you fog the surface so that you can see the KSG better or is there another reason?

Yeah, the primary reason is so I can see it. But the little bit of condensation also seems to make the SG buff off more easily. Some people use damp MFs or a QD, but IMO that's a bit too much moisture for freshly applied SG. The moisture from my breath seems to be just right.

I tried the MF bonnet to remove SG the first time I used it because people were saying it was a bear to get off.

I ended up using a MF because it wouldn't get some spots, so the second coat I removed by hand and had equal success. I used 4* UGE or the moisture from my breath to remove.

In the future I'll apply and remove SG by hand.
