Opinions needed! about to detail black rsx!

mmmm..... interesting. well, i didnt know which sealant to get and if what u say is true, i guess i'll skip it. ^.^

never skip the sealant. A good layer of Klasse Sealant Glaze will protect your car for months. If you want some extra sparkle add a quick coating of Sonus Acrylic spritz in the spray bottle after each wash. Or you can go with some S100 Carnauba Wax once a month.

But definitely seal that paint. I have about 20 layers of Klasse SG on my BoxsterS right now and the rains rolls right off. After a wash I use the green Sonus Clay and finish up with the Arclic Spritz.

okokook....

1) wash , clay, wash

2) dry

3) SSR2

4) VM

5) klasse sealant glaze

6) nattys blue wax

good yes?

oh yea, i was planning on using a quick wax after each wash.... eagle one wax-as-you-dry? i used it on my previous car and it worked quite well cept it went away quite quick as well. anyone recommend? thanks =D

SG is finicky. As Specs said, it isnt going to bond correctly to an oily surface (like that of which VM leaves behind). UPP is a great sealant that will work fine over VM (though I still don't think you need a sealant).

OCW is my go-to booster wax. Some people use it as a stand-alone LSP, but I still have the idea that a spray wax can't do that. But hey, using it as a booster wax for previous applications of carnauba is just fine with me :D

Neothin brought up a good point ealier....if you are going to want to take care of your car about every three weeks, then skip the sealant. However, if you want to extend your time between detailing then you should add the sealant, its up to you. I personally use PBs EX for black and have not looked black....you have a good setup.....its your choice though.....

Good Luck!!! :2thumbs:

hmmm... well i guess i'll decide if i want to use the sealant or not. ... OCW .. optimum car wax? do you apply that after you used nattys blue? or is it something you just use every week after you washed your car and you want to retain that shine and beading..

ok, my 2006 NBP rsx type s is about to get detailed. owned the car for around 3-4 months and swirls are appearing. i can only see the swirls at night under some sodium lighting, and during the day ,its barely visible. after doing research on this site, my steps were going to be...

1) wash and claybar and wash again

2) dry with chamois or waffleweave

3) Poorboys SSR2 applied with rotary

4) Poorboys SSR1 appllied same

3) Clearkotes Vanilla Moose

4) Meguairs NXT wax

Does this sound good, the swirls i have are minimal but its just irratating to look at. if anyone can help me out on this, id be very appreciated. o yea, another thing i noticed was that the vanilla moose said it was meant to remove those "spiderweb swirls". anyone have any idea what this means?

I have some of this stuff at home, for my own car I was thinking:

1) wash

2) dry

3) SSR1

4) VM

5) NXT

Anything bad about the above? I have some light marring I want to get rid of. Should I use 3 and 4? Or pick one over the other?
