OP for these swirls?

I have a pretty badly swirled 2004 Mustang GT, and I dont know now if the Optimum polish with a cutting pad is aggressive enough to get them out. Should I have gotten some Optimum Compound also?

I didnt do any polishing yet, just asking if you think it can take care of those swirls?

Really? The second pic seems like it has less swirling...



If you havn't tried anything yet, you sould ust go with whatever is least aggresive first. If after 2-3 passes nothings happening, it's Compound time.

It is hard to have a firm opinion without seeing the car in person. Even on similar cars, the paint hardness can vary. Start with OP and move up if necessary. You can use a cutting pad if a polishing pad and OP doesn't quite cut it but then you will have to move back down to a polishing pad if you get any hazing with the cutting pad.
