ONR wash = LSP failage?

It's definitely LSP safe. I used ONR Sunday and it rained twice this week and the beading has been just as good as ever. In fact, the car almost looks clean, even though I've had to drive in the rain twice.

Trying to figure out what i did then...because i know i put down the 476 and had at least 10-15 minutes to set...but it's been maybe a week or two and the beading is .... I don't know... =[

So does onr work negatively with certain lsps?

Not that I've ever seen and I've been using it since it came out on at least a couple thousand cars. The new version is even better about improving gloss and slickness, btw.

think i'm using the new formula since i ordered it a few weeks ago...ionno maybe it's just me.

Alex, what are you talking about exactly? Did the ONR not bead when you put it on the car? Or did you do a plain-water rinse before or after?

I'm just covering my bases because I washed my car with ONR today (which i put down collinite almost a week ago) and just looking to narrow down the suspects

Just A Quick question since its relevant...

Can ONR (New or old), weaken/diminish an LSP at QD strength or Higher ONR Wash Ratios?

Well I think it's not because of ONR but 476/845 does lose its slickness/beading after washes with any kind of soap

After a fresh coat of 476/845 my car is slick as hell.. If it rains water is going to bead like crazy it will just roll and roll off the car...After a 2nd wash I notice it's not as slick as when it was freshly waxed and when it rains the beading isnt going to be as strong since it isn't as slick but water will still roll off as soon as it bunches up

As long as my car doesnt accumulate dirt film when it rains the protection is still but yeah i wish it beads like the first day

The only lsp that doesn't lose its slickness after couple ONR wash is the optimum car wax

I live in a tropical climate so my experience may differ from you guys who lives in colder climate

Aw jeeze, no sooner discussed this yesterday than it happened to me, what're the chances of *that*, especially with the little bit I use ONR?!?

The pal that I set up with an ONR-based wash approach had told me that his ONR washes left the 476S on his Jag "less slick, like it's not even waxed any more". I wondered if it was related to the water he used.

Then Alexshimshimhae mentioned this recently.

THEN, after disussing it with Alexshimshimhae, I decided to ONR some soiled areas on the beater-Audi, which is nicely protected with my usual Collinite Sandwich (845/476S/845). I used softened tap water as I didn't want to bother with my CRS (note to self...). The areas I ONRed ended up not at all slick, just like my pal noticed with his Jag

And no, it's not just the Collinite dying off; I get many, *MANY* conventional washes in before there's any drop-off and I never get anything like what I experienced this time.

Comments welcome...but next time I'll use the DI water; I've done ONR washes with it before and never had this happen.

ok whew...so I'm not crazy...but this doesn't mean that my car is protectionless does it?

I don't think so, more like it has some kind of film over your (still OK) LSP. But that's just a guess. When I get the beater-Audi back from the shop (and that'll be a while), I'll give it a conventional wash and see how things are then. With just a few panels affected by whatever's going on, it should be easy enough to tell if it's a big deal or not.

With all the people soooo happy with ONR, I can't imagine that this is a "normal concern" but hey, when it happens to *me* then it certainly *is* a concern in my book!

Sure was one of those "oh man..." coincidences that you and I were just discussing this, huh?

No idea why that would happen, but I don't use Collinite other than the 845 I had for a while. Never noticed any problems with it and ONR (which was the original one).
