ONR user?

I finally tried my new bottle of ONR yesterday. It took me longer than it should, but the product itself was excellent. It left a slick surface for my wax to go on, and i was very impressed.



I would like to know one thing. My 'designated' MF wash towel was filthy after +/- half a car. Would it be safe to continue using, or should i have two towels to wash and another one or two to dry? I only used one bucket. After washing the towel in the washing machine, it was still a bit dirty?



Also, i finished my car off with a layer of OCW. Again, excellent product, and the time it took was half of what i usually spend. Another question though. After wiping down the first spray, it seems like my MF devours most of the wax and left nothing to buff off. Am i applying the wax correctly? How would i know if the wax has been thoroughly applied? By the slickness of the panel?
 
I'm usually comfortable with using 1-3 wash towels for the ONR. I use all faces of the towel and I fold my mf towel in half twice, giving me 8 total faces to wipe over with.



The towels will get dirty but just be sure you rinse them out really good. Personally, I still use the two bucket method (never hurts to be too safe). It would be in your best interests to do that, even it means lugging around another bucket. Just substitute a new wash mf towel whenever you feel it's appropriate.



I have yet to use OCW but should be getting it in the mail soon. Oh and yeah, just because it looks like your mf applicator is "devouring" most of the wax, that's probably not the case. In almost all cases, less product is actually better.

Thanks. I've now used ONR twice to wash my cars, and it seems like is working really well. Have to speed it up a little though. I usually to a quater of a panel each time, is that too little?



Funny, the other day it rained, i can see dirt encapsulated in the water beads. This was after 1 week of using ONR. I imagine is nothing good or bad, as long as i don't wipe the beads, but thought it was cool.
 
I think if you are going to be using a rinseless wash system with only one bucket you should be using much more than one towel if you are intent on playing it safe. As the others have pointed out flip the towel after each panel at least. I keep a smaller bathroom bucket just to wring out the towel.

I add ONR to the rinse bucket as well, I think it captures the dirt and it all sinks to the bottom. Plain old water would probably just alow the debris to sit at the top of the water.



Before using the OCW I would suggest using a cleaning quick detailer for maximum effect.
 
I think towel is the best since you can turn it 8 times?? and a sponge or mitt only twice.

I use a sea sponge which works fine as well but only on the upper panels like the hood, trunk,

fenders. Definitely need a rinse bucket for that though. the swiss cheese holes suck in a lot of debris.

for the rockers, bumpers and glass I use the inexpensive grout sponges.
