ONR saved my life

+1. Yea, I really dislike pulling out the hose since ONR.
 
When I want to really wash the wheels, tires, and wheelwells, I prefer the old fashioned way with hose and water. I can then finish up the rest of the car with ONR.
 
I was kind of skeptical of this, but since everyone raves about it I may get some on my next order.



I have a few questions on technique/how many towels/etc. but I'm sure I'll figure that stuff out in a search, however:



How do you guys do wheels/tires without a hose? Doorjams (I usually use an APC and a brush, rinse with hose, then use quick detailer or interior cleaner to finish them off)? Wheelwells?



Do you guys go through towels like it's your job?

I use Opti Seal on my wheels, and ONR washes them without a fuss. I use ONR on my jams, towel dry. Wheelwells i use a grout sponge and hit em with AA after. I wash wheels and wells last. I go through 3 towels for the whole vehicle.

I tried ONR for the first time yesterday. I backed my Eclipse out into the rain, let it get soaked and finished the wash under the carport.

There is an Optimum distributor in Dallas, not sure if that would make shipping cheaper since you aren't that far away.

I feel your pain as I do not ship out hundreds of packages per week and the two major shipping companies and one shipping broker I have used will not cut me a cost break. There is no negotiating without large shipping quantities which I do not have.



In the last five years shipping costs have just rocketed skyward. I have used and discontinued using these package shipping companies as my customers expressed the same opinion as you – Shipping costs too much! – I agree.



Example: Cost of a quart of ONR is $15.99. Shipping was around $18.00 for three or four day delivery and jumps to $42.00 if the customer waited too long to complete their order and needed it shipped overnight or were looking at the two day delivery cost around $28.00. These are all ballpark costs and close enough for this example.



This spring we switched to USPS with their flat rate shipping. Best and only price is $10.54 anywhere in the US if I can stuff the order in the box and I can in the example above. Generally takes two to five days to arrive anywhere in the lower 48 states.



*** My advice is to think ahead and look for suppliers who will give free shipping if order is over $XX.xx. ***



I apologize about going off topic as I wanted to give clarity to the cost of doing business in this economy. Shipping has been and will continue to be a major cost factor.
