need some pricing help! I havent had the chance (could be good or bad) to work on a vehicle as big as an ambulance. How long would one of these take, how much more work is it? this would be mainly for exterior only!

I was contacted by someone who has a possible opportunity for me to detail and maintain a fleet of 25 ambulances, 1 F150, and 1 explorer.

trying to figure out pricing as they are looking for a detailer currently!

any input would be appreciated!

thanks

Eric

I used ONR on a 45 foot RV and it worked fine, took me almost 2 hours to wash it and that was climbing up and down the ladder and then moving it a lil bit and so on.

thats a great gig to have there! hmmmmmmmm maybe get a pressure washere eric. i know you got the money, would speed things up, but i can't help with how much i never did ambulance before. do please give us a click and brag!

well, after a few PM's with the employee and connection, it seems as though they just want me to detail them, not maintain them! I guess the medics wash them after every day its in use...and the interior is disinfected by the driver every day...

so now its the waiting game (tomorrow hopefully) to find out just how involved in "detailing" they want to get...I was told that the other detail was trying to wash, compound, wax (no polishing) for a total of $75 per....I mentioned I would be quite a bit higher and the connection guy said he still thinks he might be able to get me in there at about 300 per based on being much higher quality...we'll see!

yeah, we will see...hopefully things work out and I can make it a monthly thing! Not the whole 2 step every month, but at least a wash and one step!!! that would be a sweet little gig...

Well most ambulances are white with a strip that are another color which normally it's red)althought i have worked for compainies with green and maroon stripes) they are normally washed each shift with the dirty bruch an a really nasty car wash(strip any thing off) I have had good luck with Megs 66 at the fire house.

anyways if i had to do a fleet i would want

power washer

poorboys bug squash (it's hard to clean around the lights and bugs seem ti love to die there)

Choice of soap

megs 66 on a rotary

choice of tire shine...

figure on 2 hours at least and remeber the top is fiberglass gelcoat so think boat when your up there

that's the one i work on

Washed every day? Well in the winter I understand it, but in nice weather, do they really get that dirty? I think washing that often is more harm than good.. But I understand the interior ha to be cleaned and every day..

Pretty much.. they are wash at the end of the shift weather they need it or not.. most of the times on a nice day you can wet it then towel off the water(using supper scratchy towels)
