ONR Clay Lube Ratio: Did I Get It Right?

Hey guys, I just mixed up some ONR as clay lube. My question is this.. The bottle I used is 24oz and I only wanted to mix up the one bottle, rather than mix it by the gallon.. I worked it out to roughly half a cap full of ONR to the 24oz of water. Will this suffice?

Ahhh, math....



Sounds about right to me. I use a 32 oz bottle and use a full cap which I calculated out to be a little over. Hopefully someone who can count to 21 clothed will be chime in though.
 
In my 32oz I think I do 27oz distilled water 5oz ONR...I have to look at my bottle though cause I write it on tape on the side lol...
 
New ONR specs? On the bottle I have, it says 2oz per gallon.. I'm a little confused.



I just want to get it right so I have the right amount of lubricity without it being too soapy.

Here's what the ONR bottle I just received about 2 weeks ago has to say:



For Clay Lube:

2 oz : 128 oz (1gallon) dilution

or....

0.375 oz : 24 oz dilution



For Quick Detailer:

6 oz : 128 oz (1 gallon) dilution

or.....

1.125 oz : 24 oz dilution



For ONR wash:

0.5 oz : 128 oz (1 gallon) dilution

or....

you shouldn't be washing wih 24 ounces of water so I won't bother with the conversion ;).





According to Optimum a capful equals 0.5 ounces. Personally, I prefer the shot glass method for measuring my ounces :2thumbs:.





I checked out the Optimum forum and it looks like there used to be a version of ONR concentrate that was 'brown' in color and had different ratios. I haven't heard of a change in the dilution ratio's for the 'blue' colored ONR concentrate, if someone has let us know.





I'm sure you know this, but in about 4-7 days your mixture dilution will turn clear, but don't worry it's still good to go.

take a empty gallon water jug fill it up with water/2oz's of ONR and then you'll have some clay lube leftover to use whenever you need it...
 
Damn I wasted a lot with my first 2 bottles of clay/QD lol...oh well live and learn...No idea how I came up with my ratio lol what a tard...



For washing I use 11liters water and 3-4cap fulls ONR

FOr Lube/QDing I now use 1-2cap fulls ONR 32oz bottle
 
Ah yes, sorry, my 1 cap per 8oz is for QDing. this is what I use as clay lube as well. QD oz is bumped up from 6 to 8 on new bottle.
