I detailed a friends volvo v70 t5 wagon for him this weekend. This is the first car i have detailed that is not one of my own. It was a quite a challenge and the car was not very well taken care of. The silver hood and roof were extremely oxidized and the interior was really dirty. Over all it took about 10 hours of work to get it looking somewhat respectable.

Exterior:

Meguiar's Gold class wash

Meguiar's Clay

Meguiar's #83 w/ cutting Meguiar's wool cutting pad on rotary (it was the strongest stuff i had)

Meguiar's #80 w/ Meguiar's polishing pad on a PC.

Klasse AIO

Klasse Sealant Glaze 2 coats

Purple power wheel cleaner

Stoner more shine

Aerospace 303

Mothers Back to Black

Interior:

The leather was all cracked to begin with so i did the best i could.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on almost every surface including the leather (went through about 12 of them)

Lexol

Aerospace 303

Stoner invisible glass

Griot's Garage interior cleaner on headliner

Stain-x and PC w/ brushes on the floor mats

Coin op the carpets

Lots of qtips

Engine:

Zep citrius degreaser

Wire brushes

Steam Pressure washed

Aerospace 303

Thanks for looking

Good job! Volvo's run forever, I hear, so hopefully your friend can enjoy their refreshed wagon before it dies!

Great turnaround...

The owner was really impressed when i returned it to him. The car has over 180,000 miles and still runs like a top. The turbo w/ a 5speed is a lot of fun. Looking back on it, it was more of a restoration than a detail. The pictures don't do a justice, this thing was beat up.

Nice job but those magic erasers will erode the coating on leather. It's not a great idea to use those. Next time just use a mild detergent solution and an interior brush.

Great improvement on the car, overall.

I did see the before pics. And, if we were to assume that coating is (almost) gone (which you would not be able to tell just from pics), it would be even worse to use something that abrasive.

Awesome work.

Would the owner be interested in Leatherique treatment? Those seats look like a prime candidate for a full overhaul.... I'm interested to see how far the seats could be taken with some serious investment!

Oh wow, that seat and the steering wheel looked terrible, now better but still not good. But I guess replacement is the only way here. I am surprised the front wheel looks like new in the after shot. But great work on the paint :bigups
