One-Step for Mild Swirls.

Looking for a product to use, with PC (I have rotary too) that can remove light swirls in one pass.

Was looking at Megs #83, seems like people were getting good results with this, ranked as a medium abrasive, which may mean I need to finish with a lighter cut polish?

Another was Menzerna Sealing Wax, I know a detail shop that used this with a white pad and PC for their customers.

Would it be advised to use the sealing wax with an orange pad for more correction power. Would that finish properly?



What would be a good AIO to use that can still remove light swirls and finish without holograms or the need to do an additional polishing step.



I have SSR1/2/3.



If I wanted to remove medium swirls the correct step would be to use SSR2 with yellow or orange pad and SSR1 with white pad?

Or would it be best to use SSR3 with yellow/orange pad then SSR1 and white?
 
Megs. d301 is a good one. I like to top it with something though for extra protection. Autoglym srp is another that will mask them. Im not much of an aio type of guy. I have heard many talk about polyseal as well from optimum products.
 
uno would be a good one step that will remove swirls but leaves no protection like an aio would. poliseal has some very mild abrasives and works well. fk 215 is a pretty good aio i like as well as kaio. don't beleive 215 has and abrasives. some finish/polish pads will still have some cutting abiliaty when used with a good aio.
 
Megs D151 has more bite than most AIO's and finishes out very well. Only gotcha is limited durability.
 
When dealing with any type of correction, I'd rather do two easy steps that leave good results than one step that's either a PIA or leaves so-so results. It really only takes a few moments to do a quick LSPing with stuff like 845.



And FWIW, I utterly despise M83; doesn't correct all that great, can do unexpected concealing, doesn't finish out that well, eh...can't think of anything I ever liked about that stuff.
 
D300 with the MF cutting disc works great on harder paints. Takes out most if not all defects and leaves an LSP ready finish. On softer paints, Optimum Hyper Polish with a polishing pad or Meguiars #205 (on super soft paints) with a finishing pad should work well. Then follow with a spray wax which will probably last longer than the wax in most 1 step polish/waxes.

Hi Temp Paint Perfection Glaze is anoter good option. They (d151 and PPG) seem to be the same type of product- nice cut, limeted durability. Kinda makes me wonder....

I agree with this, but a lot of times folks dont want to kick in the etra money or lose an extra few mins just for the additional step(s) that are worth it. That said, I usually find I can manage pretty well with one of my one-steps. Yeah, some definitely are a pia, but then again, some of my other stuff is no easy picnic especially in hot crazy humid weather like we have here in ny now.
 
usdm- Yeah, I never think of this from the Pro perspective :o And yeah#2 on the heat...my shop's A/C was inop yesterday and apparently the thermostat only goes up to 99.

I'm going to assume that with a single step polish, I should be using the PC.

Even SSR1 + LC White pad or Green would be a good step to remove light swirls/oxidization, then topped with wax.

Much better than fussing around trying to get everything out of one step, completely understandable.

I don't care for it on clears myself but to its defense it is nice to cut with on single stage paints. Works well on trailers too.
 
I just got a bottle of Poorboys PwS and really like how it looks and works (PC with orange or green UNO pad at speed 5). It seems to have more cut than poli-seal and is a breeze to remove. I have not tried D151 yet so I can not make a comparison to it, but of all the AIO I have used PwS would be one of my favorites (assuming durability is ok).
