Well, I like to check out the Regency Ford lot late a night (12am)



So I don't get bothered by the sales people. Only the janitors were there.



They got a new cobra on the lot!



We were looking at the lightnings and then the New T-bird. I was like, "Let's good look at the mustangs"



So we are walking over there and my friend is like, "What kind of hood is that?!"



I look up at it and was like "Ohhh F*** that's a 2003 cobra!"



Well I had to bust out the camera... both the video and the digital :D



They also had a SVT Focus inside.

Well, this is a bad picture but I wanna post it anyways. I might go back over there tomorrow and get some more pictures.

Here is a regular cab, V6, manual F-150 with an 8 foot bed. I think I might get it as a dedicated detailing truck instead a utility van. What do you think??

This it had like 23K miles on it. Exterior looked in good condition. From my great code breaking abilities I think they want 10K for it. I'll have to check on that though.

The svt products are awesome! Very very fewin this area. There is a sonic blue cobra down the street, but thast the only svt for like30 miles! That car is awesome!



still want myy lightning though.



the v-6 man. is a good combo for the f150. it can beat most ricers. ( I have flareside tho so ur truck will weigh more) and it can pull anything I throw in it. bout 100k on the factory clutch right now.

I don't think I'll be racing that truck with all the detailing stuff in the bed...



I'll just use my current F-150 with the V8 for that until I sell it and get an L or a cobra.



I don't know if I wanna get that truck or if I wanna get one of the white utility vans. Like the E350s



Also, sry for the outta focus pics. I was using the night setting on my camera and you have to be really still... i.e. need a tripod but I don't carry one of those around :P
 
personally I would say go for a truck with a long bed and put a cap on it. You will have plenty of space in there for building up shelves and whatnot to put your detailing stuff in there, plus they can trailer better than the vans can. Our work has a couple E350's ('97 and a '98 I think?) and we've had all kinds of problems with the drivetrains in them, plus they really bog down when you haul a trailer with them (we sometimes rent a uhaul trailer to use). We're looking at getting a '99 F150 similar to that one you took the pic of to replace the '97 van.



The reason I say trailer for you is if you decide you ever need to haul water storage tanks and/or a pressure washer unit (similar to the setups Top-of-the-Line sells.)

I want to get a dedicated detailing vehicle so I don't have to haul a trailer. It is a pain to haul one in the city. If I was gonna get a trailer, then I would just pull it with my current truck.



I'll probably mount a small watertank in the van or in the truck. I'm talking like 60 gallons.



How are GMC's Utility Vans? Are they good?
 
That new T-Bird is just sweet. I would love to have one. The new Cobra doesn't impress me that much however I would prefer the new Mach 1 (even though it is less powerful) it looks much better and is not an SVT product.



As far as GMC utility vans. The word GMC speaks for itself! In the truck/van world there is no better than a GMC or Chevrolet for everyday use. I've owned F150s, Yukons and all the like and GM is far better in quality, performance and most of all resale value.



Go with a GMC van it would be much better for your purpose than the F150.
 
When I owned my biz, my partner had a Toyota one ton pickup as his detailing rig. Had a water tank installed and containers to hold equipt and supplies. My buddy and I also co-owned a Chevy Astro van that was once a phone company van. I think we got it for $3500, painted it white, installed some racks for holding supplies, and went to work.



Personally I like vans as they are more secure than pickups. Buy whatever brand you like; I see lots of used cargo vans for sale in the teens. At my old office we had a mobile detailer there a few times with a long wheelbase GMC van that was set up perfectly for the job. Short of a detailing trailer I think that's the best set up. Plenty of space for a water tank, generator, canopy, power washer, lights, and all the supplies you'll need.
 
From what I've heard GMC's vans with the 350's in them are good (old-style "Rallye" vans)..... I haven't heard much about the new ones (Savanna/Express style)



bret, I'd have to disagree about vans being more secure..... if you set a truck up the right way, you can have just as much security.



oh and what year is that F you're looking at now for 10K? I just found this '02 with 15K miles on e-bay for 14K cash http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1851534105
