what do you guys do to remove these things cause i sure cant figure it out :nixweiss i dont want to go with a steel bristle brush and mess anything up any suggestions?
 
ive found that lint rollers (what you normally use on your clothes) work very well for removing dog hair. It should take out the bulk of it. Then you can decide what to do from there.
 
Lint rollers work great, I use a giant one to do my simulated cabrio roof and I've even used a roll of masking tape and duct tape, rolling it along the surface of a car's interior to pic up the crud
 
When I went to the pro detailing seminar a few weeks ago. They told us a little trick reguarding pet hair remover. They said to put fabric softner and water in a bottle and spray on the upholstery or carpet where the hair is. This should cause the hair to loose its static charge making it easy to vacuum up. Might be worth a try, but I haven't personally tried it myself.

What the heck was your client carrying in the car?



Someone here recommended wearing a damp latex glove and wiping to remove the hair. I tried it and it works pretty well.

I got this work great on hair so far and some dirt.

I actually saw this at a bed bath and beyond, but it wasn't really that much cheaper (it was black, I didn't like black, can't see dirt), i was like damn Mr. Griot didn't over charge that much this time. But I do notice that some stuff from that store is way over price and some are not to bad. Just have to learn wat they are.
 
As was stated a damp towel or damp latex kitchen gloves work well. Another thing to try is a damp sponge to remove pet hair. After removing the hair, use a stiff brush on the carpet while vacuuming to remove the sand and mulch.

Along the lines of lint rollers, wrap packing tape around your hands adhesive side out, works great plus you can get into places a lint brush cannot.



Sands a pain, it's often necessary to vibrate it loose and while it's dancing around suck it out. A vacuum beater head works well. If all you have is a shop vac or similar head to wifes side table for the necessary assessories.



To remove mulch a shovel is your best bet.
 
pet hair i agree with the latex glove i usually wear gloves all day so i get in the routine of rubbing stains and hair out. beware of volkswagen and subaru interiors they can be a pita

When I was detailing I had a customer w/ a volkswagen and she carried her dog in it all the time. OMG, that was the worst car to try to get the hair out of!!!



Good thing is she just wanted me to get the real big clumps of hair out of the back and just make sure the drive/passenger seat didn't have any dog hair.
