OMG - What do I do now!

Take your time, be a true professional, diagnois what needs to be done, explain what you have seen, show those concerns to the owner, ask them what they see, what they expect, explain what your process is to correct those concerns, get a "go ahead" from them, then do the best you can do.

What else could you do, cause if you do not diagnois, if you do not "know the expectations" of the owner, it could end up just "digging a deep ditch", and that is always trouble.

Ehh... she canceled. She sent pics and said there were swirls and scratches all over the car, scuffed bumper, interior work, etc. My quote was to high.

That stinks but don't let it get you down. Did you see the car in person when you quoted, or just by the pictures and her description? I never, ever quote these types of jobs over email no matter how good the pics are. It's almost impossible to build value in your services over email. Much better to look at the car in person so you can put your hands on it and show your passion, explain what you are going to do, show excitement about it right in front of the person. That way they also get excited about it and are much more likely to book the job and keep it.

What's funniest to me about this business is some of the cheapest customers I have ever dealt with have the most expensive cars.

So True. I think they are just paranoid that people are trying to take advantage of them, but have no idea how it makes them look.

I get the distinct impression that most of these people think they are the only people allowed to make a profit on anything. I had one guy that in 4 visits to the shop spent.........wait for it.......a grand total of $65 (driving a $125k car). The last time he came in we had increased the price of our hand car wash to $20 from $15 (first price increase in 14 years) and he has never been back. I know a to of people that know him and they all say the same thing about him. It's pretty funny
