Old School CD2 Engine Detailer ROCKS !!

I remember using CD2 when I was in high school (won't say what year the cars were back then). I was disappointed when it poofed from the store shelves but recently acquired a stash.

You need to start with a clean engine bay. Put newspapers under the compartment because you need to saturate the parts and there is always some drippage!



It is super wet when first applied but the solvents quickly evaporate away.

DURING

You walk away for 20-30 minutes and then start the car to "set" the finish. Afterwards you can drive for 20 minutes to finalize the look !!

The white spots on the final pic is just dust after the car set for a spell. Pay special attention to the look of the bridge and hoses!!:) :)



Must stress that the engine bay needs to be clean ahead of time, this is not a cleaner but a final spray product. Put something down to catch the drips and ENJOY
 
Ive got three cans left. I absolutely love this stuff, though I don't see much of a difference between this and NoTouch Seriously Wet.
 
I bought six cans from a member here recently, he said he had a few cases, his name was "langman27" I believe, this stuff rocks, and, yes, I used to use it back in the day, and was peeved when it went missing.



It is BY FAR the easiest to use, and best outcome engine shine product I have ever used. I use it sparingly on customers cars! LOL.

Yes, I have a few. I love it. And I especially love it when I find more of it. I'm always on a quest for it. I do quite a few engines and they look great every time. I even like the CD2 cleaner which is almost impossible to find

It's not like a tire shine. The stuff dries and leaves some sort of coating. Nice product.

waxdepot.com sells it by the can as well as by the case. Amazon.com is the only other place I've found it other than the occasional ebay seller. Some people say they can still find it at AutoZone, but it is hit and miss. ...mostly miss.

are you talking about cd-2 engine detailer in general

or are you talking about the origional formula in the black can?

I don't think they make it anymore.



What I have been doing is running 303 in a spray gun and after i clean the engine I spray it all with 303. Leaves a nice look as well in my opinion. I used to use CD-2 but it is so hard ot find anymore I gave up.
 
Murrary's isn't a national chain I don't think. If it is then they certainly don't seem to have any in Utah. I really wish a national chain like PepBoys or AutoZone would just carry it on a consistent basis.



I don't think the formula has ever changed. They changed the can at one point, but there wasn't any difference between the two. I went from a black can to a silver can on the same engine and it was the same product.
 
Thats about a week old CD2 Engine Detailer. I usually spray down, drive for 10 minutes, come back and wipe with a cloth to even out the dressing, or else it will just dry in blotches.

Old School = product been around for ages.

I remember Kit wax too in the yellow can. Saw somebody at SEMA last year trying to revitalize the line.
 
you should try CG's silk shine dressing...i actually like the look better than Cd-2... it "bakes on" much better and is far more economical...i dont even need to wipe off excess when done....
