I was curious if anyone still used the old 7424s?

When I started detailing that's all that was really talked about and I actually have a 7336 from when I started. I still use it and it works great. When I need more power I just use the Flex. I've thought about ordering a newer DA but why change if it still works.
 
I don't have a PC but my De Walt is still running strong with about 10 years on it. Only thing I have to do is replace the power chord its been taped a million times needs replacement.
 
I still have an original PC, I did not put that many hours on it but purchased a Flex Da what helped me tame my Black Car. I now have a GG DA that I got to try recently and it is the most comfortabel machine I have ever used. I dont have a ton of hours behind it but so far 1 car down and liking it. I have the original PC set up just to apply sealant to my larger cars. Less product used and mush thinner coats=easier to take off.
 
Use my old 7424 PC for 3" buffing and also use it with4" pads for LSP application, still running strong and serves me very well!
 
I have a Meguiar's G100, which was a Porter Cable 7424 with the Meguiar's name on it. It finally has a power cord issue, but that thing flat out ripped. Over time the bearing had loosened up and it had excellent pad rotation (easily as much as the newer machines).

The older G100's have a lifetime warranty, so I could get it replaced with G110v2, but I already own 2 of those so it looks like I will have to get the power cord replaced.

Why yes I do and if it died I'd order another the same day...no hesitation at all....14 years and still going strong!! :bigups

I still have mine. Still going strong. I actually picked up a few when Lowes was blowing them out for like $24 lol.

I still have an old UDM (Ultimate Detailing Machine). Anybody remember those? LOL

I use to get my older PC's at a pawn shop and that UDM was send to me for testing about 6 - 7 years ago and I still have it.
 
I figured Bobby would still have his.

Mine still looks pretty good other than a couple times I've dropped it off my bucket. It still works great but it's a little noisy. It almost always has my 3.5" back plate on it since its so convenient to just swap machines while I work.
 
The one's I had would burn up and died, it was easy to just pickup a used one for about 25 bucks and keep going.
 
My 7336 is still going strong. It now has a carpet brush on it. The only reason it dosen't see much buffing time is I have 3 other da's but would not hesitate to put in back into my regular buffing line-up at anytime.
 
I have one it works great and I use it also in my wood working. I just got a flex 3401 and it's a real step up.
