Old M105

I seem to remember that adding one of the Optimum polishes to 105 can extend it's working time. I was trying out 105 today for the first time (mine has been on the shelf for almost a year), and found that drys quickly. What mix ratio should I use?

Thnx!

Even though I used to mix OCP with various aggressive products (e.g., H-T EC)to increase the work time, I would *NOT* mix OCP with M105. I'd simply hate to mess with the way original M105 works; if it's not the right choice I'd rather use another product.

If your M105 is the old, "rotary only" version (scare-quotes intentional), sell it to somebody who loves the stuff (like me :D ) and get the newer version.

The original M105 was *perfect* for some people, please don't waste it ;) The newer version doesn't flash/dry too fast and is plenty user-friendly IMO.

BUT...are you *sure* yours is the old v1.0? Check the label and see if they mention D/A or hand use. You might have the v2.0, in which case you just need to tweak your technique a little bit.

The back label mentions only hand or rotary application. What is it about the old 105 that you like compared to the new?

Ah, that *is* the old v1.0.

It (i.e., the old stuff) has more cut. Plus, it's just *different*. As best I can tell it has a lower oil content than the new stuff.

PM on the way.

.

I got at least half a quart (maybe 20oz) and probably 11oz or slightly more of a 12oz ADS sampler of the original.......

The best thing to cut it with would be Meg's Ultimate Compound. Same tech. just more work time. It will reduce the cut but on certain occasions it can be nice to have the additional work time.

Mixing it with a traditional diminishing abrasive product probably would not be the best idea.
