Old Can of #26

I cleaned out my garage the other day and found an old can of #26 wax. It's in a goldish yellow tin, the same tin as the current #16. It's labeled Professional Hi Tech Yellow Wax. I don't think #26 come in these yellow tins anymore, I wonder how old is my tin? My guess is at least 10 years old. I opened the tin and the yellow wax is still "wet" but have some cracks across the surface of the wax.



Is wax this old still good for use on cars? I wonder if the wax content itself have been improved over the years between my old yellow tin of #26 and the currently sold black plastic casing #26?
 
If it hasn't frozen, then it's probably okay to use.



Just use as normal, apply a thin coat, allow 10-15 minutes to dry then remove with clean 100% cotton towel, or microfiber.



Meguiar's is transitioning back to the cans for all paste waxes by the way.

Why? :confused: I like the plastic better. I never had a problem with rust with plastic. Here in the Houston area, and peice of metal rusts almost instantly with the humidity.

You know I've never heard of that complaint before?



I have heard plenty of people complain about the plastic jar however. I for one like the can for a whole host of reasons, I never did care much for the plastic jar myself, so I'm glad were going back to the can.

Thank for the information Mike. I much prefer the can also. I will get the chance to try out this old can of #26 & compare with the current #16 blue can. I can't wait to compare the results of the two on one of my daily driver's hood.

Does this mean the #16-style tins? If so, HOOOORAY! The #26 jar is way too tall and the #16 tin has a great "old-skool" feel.
