Okay, my only complaint about NXT is...

I had 3 coats of SG on the Wifemobile (Moonlight Gray Metallic paint). Topped with one coat of Meg's NXT, and it truly added a new dimension. Slicker, deeper, _and who cares if it lasts_, it's got Klasse underneath.

David,

When I used it as a QD on my single stage paint it removed pigment. For this reason I would not recommend using it as a QD.

I truly don't understand "spray wax". If you have to spray it on, then spread it around with an applicator and let it haze, then why not simply wax the car? If it's supposed to be a "booster product", then why is it removing pigment? Meg's Quik Wax did the same thing, btw, as did S100 Quick Wax, Stoner's Speed Bead and Bead Max (the last three true aerosol products). Wax as You Dry, OK; it saves a step. Otherwise, I see no economy, of either $$ or time, in these products.

Just my opinion, of course, YMMV. (And I suppose it does, doesn't it?)

Tom

It sounds like we're talking about two different products. The product I have sprays on and wipes off like a QD. It's not thick enough to apply with an applicator. I'm going to have to pull and try more bottles... what I'm using is not at all like the original Meguiar's Quik Wax, which is what you're describing.

I'm using the NXT Spray Wax, David; we're getting different results, is all. I get this result with every spray wax I've used. I postulate that it has something to do with the thinners in the trigger spray waxes, and perhaps the thinners and propellants in the aerosol waxes.

I mention it only as a data point. It might be overwelmed by a large number of contradictory points, but nevertheless it's there. It's the hood of a 7 year old single-stage red car with soft paint. It's probably at the extreme, but then it's a valuable point to have in defining the extreme!

I find it more interesting that my car looks better with NXT alone, rather than NXT with Souveran Paste over top. I'm posting the NXT pics in C&B as soon as I finish this post.

I agree with the original point of this thread. The smell is not great IMO. Later after using it, the garage smells pretty nice, but when using it, the smell is kind of overpowering. Sort of like supermarket aftershave. But all in all the product is impressing me thus far. I can't wait to wash off the Regal to see how it is fairing in this salty, awful weather.

One thing I've found about NXT that I really like...so far, with 1 bottle, I've used it on 15 of my customer's cars (including an F-250 crew cab long bed, Toyota Sequoia, Ford Expidition and a BMW 745--don't laugh, that is a big car!) and my own car has two layers....and the bottle is still about 1/2 full!

Scott I think your bottle is getting stale ... you better send it to me and get a new one ... Hate to use stale stuff on customers cars :bounce

Jesstzn....

How about this, instead of taking Scottwax's NXT, I'll send you a sample bottle. All you have to do is post your honest opinion, good or bad.

If your down with that... send me your shipping address including your phone number, (need it for shipping, been there done that with Tim, aka 2hotford).

Mike

Hey Mike, since your handing out samples.... Id love one ; ) been looking at walmart everytime i go and they dont have it in yet. Id be more than willing to give you an honest opinion.

David,

This is what I am talking about and I believe the same of Mosca.

From the label on the back:

"Directions: SHAKE WELL, Mist Meguiars NXT Spray Wax directly onto cool, washed surface (sprayer should be 8-12 inches from the surface). Spread evenly over a portion of the car using a clean, soft, 100% cotton towel or foam applicator. Allow time for wax to haze and then buff off with a seperate 100% cotton, terry cloth towel or Ultimate Wipe microfiber."

Admittedly I haven't tried to use it as I would a Quick Detailer. I may give it a try and see what kind of results I get.
