OK, started taking some advice... With Photos

Very nice car. I respect that you detail it yourself. I doubt that many other Lambo owners do that. It looks great BTW

I find that kind of work therapeutic. Plus, it gave me something new to learn. Always for that.

.. this one shows a little of the metal flake in the platinum. It really is a much more complex color than I've been able to demonstrate.

As you can see, after the UPP and Souveran, the car has tremendous shine. But I really don't feel it has much depth.

Is this just the fact that it is a silver car?

I like how that looks, it looks sorta like a "busier metallic" version of Audi silver.

Yeah, it's pretty much the nature of the beast. My S8 looks good with UPP and I would expect the Souveran to add some depth.

I paly around with different thing on the S8 and my wife's (identical paint) A8, and it seems you have to choose what you're after...no way to have it all at the same time with most silvers.

BlackFire would probably give a *little* more depth but it also darkens silver a bit and I don't think that'd be an overall improvement. Some waxes tend to do the same thing (e.g., Meguiar's #26) but again, I don't think the overall effect would be more pleasing.

The really dazzling metallic effect kinda precludes having a whole lotta depth IMO, it's gonna always be a trade-off so I'd play off the paint's strengths and go for the metallic dazzle (which you appear to have now).

Oh man, the thought of trying to clean the back/insides of those wheels after a track day...I'd pull 'em off and do them off the car. It'd be a good opportunity to detail the wheelwells anyhow. Put a few coats of UPP on everything, including the brake calipers ;)

Great shine you have there Alan. Looks so wet and the flakes are popping out from the pic's! Be proud of what you have done to your ride and maybe at the next meet you can try something different on it. (weather permitting). Like i said have a great time at the track!:2thumbs: Thanks for the pic's!

Love the wheels, mesh always looks so classy

car looks good I agree on depth I have tried about 10 diff LSPs on my silver acura and still trying diff things

Not fun to lift those tires/wheels for sure. But the road grip is hard to imagine. Like glue.

Just starting out. Tried the first combo. We'll see what I try next in a few months to see if I can add that elusive depth. Protection was important at this point, as I have a track date to deal with. Once that's over with, I can shift gears to finding the ultimate wet look / shine / etc.

In the mean time, I'm hot and heavy working on a gold Lexus. Gold seems to be an easier color than Silver. So far, so good. We'll see how this turns out.

zzzzdoc = anesthesiologist? I'm a pediatrician = no lambo for me :sadpace:

I knew I went into the wrong specialty! There are not a lot of physicians that detail their own cars, specially such a nice one :2thumbs:

I wonder how many other docs are on this site?
