Ok please critique the heck out of this...

I've been doing a lot of reading and have decided on the following for my plan of action. I have medium swirling, and webbing (gotta hate black cars)...



1- Wash the car

2- Clay

3- Meguiar DACP with yellow foam pad with PC 7224

4- Wash the car

5- Proceed with Zaino



I want to buy the least amt. of products as possible...I have swirl marks for the dealer and due to 2.5 years of improper washing and drying. A couple of very light scratches...



I plan on using a MF towel by hand to remove the DACP, and applying and removing the Zaino using the 100% cotton towels they recommend.



Also is the 5' cw that comes with the 7224 ok for detailing use?
 
MF towels could replace the 100% cotton, of you have them...



The counterweight offsets vibrations from the pad and backing plate. You'll know right away...



Suggest you change to the 6".

If you have the 6" CW then switch. If not the 5" is fine. I have both CW's and can hardly tell the diff so I just leave the 5" on unless I'm using one of my large 8" pads for something.



Otherwise your plan looks fine. I've used the same steps for several cars and all have looked great.

Why wash the car twice? I never wash again after polishing. Seems to me your more likely to put crap on the paint than take it off. The car should be clean after the first wash....no need to wash again.



If you're looking for the least amount of products Zaino is clearly not the right choice. I am not a big Zaino fan (although I haven't tried it personally) but I know for a fact you can get away with much fewer products. You could go DACP -> Glaze -> Wax.



Last weekend I did my new "autopia influenced" routine which was...



DACP -> SFP -> Klasse AIO -> Omega Glaze -> Blitz Wax.
 
BlackRegal, isn't QD and shampoo necessary anyways? :)



If you want to keep it simple, try:



Wash

DACP

KAIO

Zaino



In my experience, going straight to Z-5 or Z-2 after AIO doesn't seem to affect durability all that much. I still get a good 4-6 months with a single coat. In fact, I've been using AIO as a base for a few other products with terrific results.
