OK now im frustrated, hopefully you guys can help!

I'm just curiuos....I don't get the linting of sheepskin mitts. Are you saying they leave little independent fibers everywhere which cling to the paint?

I have had that happen with synthetic sheepskins, but my real ones may leave a chunk of fur behind once in a while when I catch them on something, but never anything beyond that.

Interesting......

I have a couple of ww microfibers that I have dedicated to ONR washing, and they work good.

hey Super,

Thats exactly what im talking about. they leave fibers EVERYWHERE and its driving me nuts, i think im gonna order the shmitt and give that a shot. I have heard good and bad things about it, but mostly good, so its worth 15 bux to give it a try. if it lasts for over 60 washes like it says it does, then its more than worth it.

I've never had real sheepskin mitts give me a problem with linting either...only synthetic ones which I don't ever use anymore. Of course I don't use mine everyday either, I'm more of a hobbyist...so maybe I don't wear mine out that much before I toss 'em. I typically purchase 2 mitts a year, 1 for paint, 1 for wheels...plus I keep an old one around for wheel wells. Oh...and I'd say I average about one or two washes per week April-October, and maybe twice a month during winter since I'm driving my beater which I'm not quite so anal about. Plus it's just too freakin' cold.

Hey guys,

I was gonna start a new thread but figured I would post it here. I had a GREAT mini detail of my truck today. I was so frustrated a few days ago and I wanted to fix the problems I have been having (see original post).

I went to wal mart and picked up one of those MF covered sponges for $1.77 to see if it could replace the sheepskin. I also bought some Stoners IG, which i have never used before but have heard great things about. I was having a huge problem with window streaking and wanted to see if it was the towel or the product i was using.

I then went to Carquest and picked up DG Aquawax. Again, ive never used this product but have heard great things.

Well, I started with the QEW. I was skeptic to the 2 dollar MF sponge but I had to get rid of those darned sheepskins! I dipped my sponge into the solution picked it up out of the water and no water at all dripped onto the ground, this thing holds water like crazy!! No water in my shoes, on my pants, anywhere! I drained most of the water in the bucket and went to town on the paint. Man this thing is nice, no lint, no thumb to worry about, glided nicely and cleaned up nicely in my bucket.

This is definitely a keeper. :D

I then went on and did my usual monthly interior. Vac, clean, protect, etc....

Finally it was time to try out this Aquawax stuff. This stuff is simply AMAZING! :2thumbs: Spray on and wipe off, thats it! It left my paint so slick and glossy, and it took about 10 minutes to do the whole car!! I was so damn happy at this point.

Now onto the windows, again I was very skeptical because of the streaking problems Ive had as of late. I applied IG as directed on the can and just wiped it off with my WW MF. NO STREAKING! This stuff is INCREDIBLE as well! I cant believe I havent been using this stuff earlier. I took my bottle of NXT glass cleaner and threw it in the garbage! I am a new Stoner IG fan for life!

When it was all said and done, about 2 hours worth of relaxing and not frustrating detailing. My truck looked amazing and I wasnt pulling my hair out.

This was a truly enjoyable detail! I always thought product selection was just driven by hype and marketing, (which it is to an extent), and it doesnt really matter what product from what company you buy - but with the right products, this hobby can truly be fun and rewarding! :2thumbs:

kleraudio- Glad to hear you had a good experience for a change! It's easier to stay positive about this stuff when things go your way :D

BTW, I stopped by Lowe's today, PM me if you like.
