hey guys my escorts paint wasnt that bad i didnt think but its never been waxes or anything i made like 5 passes with the orang pad with ssr2.5 and theres still visibal swirl marks at night it looks shiney till the sun or light hits it a certin way so ima go to the ssr3 with yellow cuting pad and to the ssr2.5 then the ssr1 and finish it off with nattys. give me feedback i know ive been posting alot but ima newbie here

I probably wouldn't recommend using SSR3 with an orbital. I use it but only with a rotary and I'm pretty careful with pad choice. You can install a haze that is difficult to remove when using a PC.

be careful you don't cut clean through the clear with that SSR 3. What you will have is a full cutting pad and the most aggresive polish/compound that steve makes. that sounds dangerous to me. If you have your mind made up about cutting so much maybe you will try the SSR 2.5 with the yellow pad first. It sounds like you are heading toward the same mistake that I had made early on,(cutting through) experience takes time, slow down and let time take time. I'm not trying to tell you what to do but making a suggestion. don't try to leap from the middle of the ladder to the top, try a few more combinations. if you are going to use the SSR 3 maybe you should use a lighter pad to start with.

I was told that SSR 3 is like liquid sandpaper, if it is anything like the 3M super duty compound that I have it won't take long at all to cut clean through the paint and into the primer. I hope some of this helps. TD

Pictures would help. But first make sure you are using the 2.5 to the max. I sometimes have to hit a panel twice. But the PC 2.5 and orange pad, is able to handle lots, but is not the most aggressive combo available.

How are you working the SSR2.5?

Remember, amount of product, pad, pressure, arm speed machine speed, all make a noticable difference.
