Well it happened finally, my first rock chip, I had been waiting for it for about 1 year 1/2. I knew it would happen one day, but even knowing all this time I still got sad, :( so it’s on my hood and is the size of a capital letter O. I went to the Honda dealer and got some touch up paint, I applied it with the pen end, little by little. Well I coved it and it didn’t bubble out, but now my problem is that is not smooth like I wish it was. It’s kinda bumpy. I don’t want to sand down I am super scared, but my question is do you think it will get smoother after washes and buffings or did I screw it up?

dont know about touch up paint.

i have a bunch of tiny ones on my brand new 04, I just let them be until I feel the need to touch up :nervous:

Yeah I agree- just don't worry about it. As a museum curator said in a long-ago car magazine: "real cars have stone chips".

You didn't mess up, that's the way touchup paint works. If you want it nice and smooth you need to either wetsand it or use some solvent-based approach like Langka. It won't smooth out unless you try one of those two approaches.
