thats a site with upto 12000 grit.

thats not 12000 grit... if you look at all the other papers they sell, the # on the label is diffrent then the actual grit... i.e. their 1500 = 400grit

1800=600grit........3200 = 1200grit.

now why would they do this? all that does is confuse everyone as to what they are actualy buying :furious:

no more sanding for me! lol!!!

i am gonna borrow my friend's Langka bottle to smooth out the basecoat, then apply my Clearcoat and use rubbing compound to smooth and polish that.

You can use Langka for the clearcoat as well as long as its touch-up paint.

Rubbing compound? I thought you'd be scared off heavy abrasives by now! :chuckle:

i noticed that after I posted, thanks for highlighting as I forgot too. Nice teg ;)

thanks man...

Speaking of wetsanding, i just got done using 2000 Grit, trying to level out a scrape ... leveled it pretty good but then tried to use Scratch X to take the scratch out, worked pretty good but there is still hazing and a bit dull...

thoughts?

Finish up with a milder finishing polish. Meg's #80 comes to mind as an OTC product, but Optimum Car Polish is probably what I'd use.

are you talking to me or the starter of the thread?

I've actually got #83 and #80 i plan on going over the entire car with...

Thanks!

Yeh try #80/83 on a polishing if it doesnt cut it then try a cutting pad and some pressure, but make sure to check your work periodically since the clear coat will have thinned due to the wet and dry. Could post pics and we'll give u some advice ;)

ok, in this pic... i've cleaned with dishsoap and water... painted then Wetsanded with 2000 grit.... used an application of Scratch X... cleaned with Dishsoap again... and touched up the spots that I did not "build-up with paint".... tomarrow i will wetsand again.... and apply 3 coats of Scratch X to get out as much marks as i can.
