You guys with pictures from the race track make me jealous. Man, what I would do to take my bike on a real track one day!

Unfortunately this is the current state of my 1997 VFR750. The 4th Gen VFR (94-97) has always been one of my favorite bikes, this is my 2nd. Unfortunately the previous owner didn't really take care of it all that well so as a long term project I am completely tearing her down and replacing, repairing or just refinishing everything from the ground up.

Here is a picture of her the previous owner took in his garage.

Unfortunately I do not have pics of all of my previous bikes but here are a couple of my most recent.

1996 Honda Goldwing Aspencade - bought her in 1997 from a guy in North Palm Beach, FL with only 800 on the odometer. Unfortunately I had to sell her when my son was born for something more practical with 4 wheels and 4 doors. After 2 years I managed to get the same amount that I had paid for her when I bought her. Of all the bikes I have owned I think I had the most fun with this one, it was a different kind of fun than the thrill of a sport bike, the wife and I rode the Wing almost every day together while we owned it...

1996 Hone CBR1000F - I bought this one primarily for commuting in Orlando. Can't tell you how many young guys in what they thought were hot cars got their arses handed to them at the stop lights ;) Heck I even managed to surprise a few of them with the Wing :)

My son (now 8) has expressed an interest in riding with me. If I am in a position in the next couple of years to get a new bike I am seriously looking at a larger sport tourer like the Honda ST1300 or the new Kawasaki Concourse, maybe even a newer GL1800 Goldwing.

Just curiosu what you guys think, I want something lighter and sportier as either a second bike or possible replacement. I miss being able to lean into a turn and flick the bike around. I need something "comfortable" for commuting and day trips, I dont need a long distance tourer really. I want sportbike style and fun without the ergo's of a true sportbike, something a bit cushier and more upright. Any suggestions?

You're obviously a Harley fan, so how about a V-Rod? If I bought a Harley, which I am seriously considering, this is the one I would buy, hands down.

Have you looked at the Honda 919? It might be a good bike for you.

JDookie, I would go for the VRSCD Night Rod personally. Ive never ridden one, but the VRSCAW has a bit of a wierd seating postion that I think was changed a bit on the Night Rods? There's no way I could afford 2 Harleys though.

Black240SX, Ill have to check it out and see what they are like.

Deenice21, who makes the 650R?

I used to ride a Ninja ZX6 back in the day and I really liked it, it wasnt overly aggressive but I was younger then too. :) I might have to look at the Ducattis (they are expensive though?) and does Honda still make the Interceptor?

All day comfort with sportbike-ish handling and looks?

I loved my V-strom 650... shown here with lower fairing kit.

My first bike was a 96 Bandit 600s, bought brand new, similar charachteristics, but traded it in 2 weeks later for a zx6

Yeah, I like the VRSCDX Night Rod Special the best. I love the red accents, which are just like the Raven Yamaha R1's.
