Official Most Hated Step of Detailing

For me, its probably polishing the lower lower sections of the car, where I have to either sit and be at awkward angles, or lie down and still be at awkward angles, or stand and bend down upside down at awkward angles so I don't hit the door trim when there is some. Another gripe is heavy compounding, and multistep polishes (more than 2), because I go over the car that many times, then I know I still have to go around it even more!

Unlike many, I really like doing the tires/wheels/wells.

Interior glass always sucks, especially on the little cars. Being 6'2" it is not easy to crawl around the back seat trying to clean the rear windows of a little coupe.

agreed, the inside of the front windshield is awful.
Especially in 07+ Civics...the damn dash is steep and there's no room to move, plus the speedo hump gets in the way of getting all the way down with your hands on the MF...

rims (especially intricate ones and also the barrel inside where it's really dirty) and wheel wells where the gap is tight...

I hate dressing exterior trim. There's so much of it on my truck, and no matter how careful I am I always get it on the paint around the handles. After that is dressing tires. I love the way it looks, but I just don't feel like spending the time.

Dress the trim before you wax. Any wax you get on the trim doesn't stain and any dressing you get on the paint gets wiped off with the wax.

Honestly its the first heavy cut when doing a compound. Always gums up the pads quickly, and just makes a terrible mess if you accidently use too much compound, or hit the line of compound at a funky angle. :(

any car with a lot of curves to it. But not curves that only go 1 way. Like volvo curves are fine... but a lexus i worked on today SUCKED! I hated it. My pad would jump like it was playing hop scotch.

Also, interiors. Also, polishing... it takes me forever. IDK why i love detailing so much... it seems like i hate it after i do a car.

i have to agree with interiors... i hate when i have to wipe down a interior thats so dusted about 3-4 times just to get it looking up to my standards!!! >:P
