I most recently read an article in my newpaper that talked about how some small businesses have branched out from their main concept to add additional services i.e greenhouse/ ice cream stand, barber shop/ smoke shop and they seem to be finding some degree of success. I myself have a parttime detail shop and a few weeks ago I started purchasing small quantities of scrap metal copper, aluminum cans from the general public at or below market prices and reselling at higher prices to a well established scrape yard. It seems to keep me pretty busy and its a way to make a little more revenue when I have no cars to work on. Please share if you have tried odd business combinations.
