This was fun! I've done a few full Xpel wraps on Tesla model S. The number of these cars I've been privileged to work on, I've done just about anything you can do to them detail related. This was a first and the customer gave me the ok to change any way I saw fit. We both were going for unique and when it got the P85D was on its way! The reason this is part one is there is a custom carbon body kit being made that will be put on the car later.
This is after I washed, IX, clayed, and polishing step with hyper polish. I wasn't going for correction I just wanted to make sure the paint was really clean and ready for the Xpel Stealth wrap
Shiny eh? Not for long!
Total this project took about 5 days start to finish. I have a lot of working pics I want to save for part 2 write but this was so cool I wanted to share!
Edges wrap!
Hood done! wrapped on all 4 sides.
We were up in the air on if we should wrap all the chrome, black out the chrome, leave chrome... For now we left and it looked really good! Although I did like the look of it with stealth film on it
This was later replaced with a piece of Xpel ultimate. Anyone who has worked on a Tesla knows the worst part of finishing on of these cars is keeping finger prints of the door handles. Xpel on top solves this problem!
Carbon accents on the side markers to match the spoiler.
When we got done we did 2 layers of Cquartz Finest over the whole car, FlyByForte on the glass, DLux on the wheels and calipers. The trim was untouched other than cleaned because it will be replaced soon with body kit.
The nose cone and pano roof rails were left gloss being wrapped in normal Xpel.
Playing camera again instead of iPhone pics check it out!
Done for now! Part 2 coming soon!
Thanks for looking
