This was really fun! I was contacted after the owner of this awesomely rare giant Bentley saw the work I did on his coworkers car. I'm a car nut and when I saw this I had no clue what it was other than it was big, black, and a Bentley. After some research I discovered what an iconic automobile this is. There are only about 150 in the whole US and I not only was getting to work on it. I got to drive it from San Fran to the shop and back about a 60 mile round trip! For both those drives I got to experience what its like to have everyone around give you that "DAMN HE MUST BE RICH" look. I've driven all kinds of very expensive cars but this one just screams wealth and class on a different level. At various lights I was waved at, smiled at, had a nose lifted at, given a thumbs up, and even asked "Can you teach me to do what you do so I can get a car like that??". I replied "I just wash cars...Oh I'm gooooood" with a smirk. After I got back the shop all the euphoria and bliss of driving this amazing car was taken from me with glance from my point light. Reality hit and back to earth, this car has more real estate than a Saudi Sheik... Oh and its black with massive amounts of damage from what appeared to be 200000000 really poor car washes(I'm sure they were by hand because no one would drive one of these into a tunnel. But not all hand washes are equal as many of my fellow professionals have seen).
Opening the door the first thing I noticed was the name which I had not heard before
After a quick stop to pick up some Grey Pupon, I got back to shop and got right to it with a thorough wash and decon to get it ready for polishing
There was no sun so I had to use my point light and this is what was revealed!
Major swirls and sanding marks. Along with a lot of random "this car has been touched in all the wrong way" marks.
These were deep!
I started the same way I always do by assessing the paint and doing a few test spots around the car in different areas. This was my results after 2 compounding passes.
Big improvement!
During compounding I was leaving some haze that was cleaned up later during my OH MY GAWD ITS SO SHINY polishing step!
The paint on this car had almost 0 texture from the factory. I was excited to see end results so I kept pushing on!
Its so big and black! The panels on this car were huge, we(my self and little brother) spent 2 entire days compounding.
0 clarity, and very dull..
Like a boss!
After polishing the hood you can see our efforts were paying off because the paint was glowing!
Fast forward and it this point all the polishing was done! It was time to protect and preserve our work.
After coating it was dark! That's ok LED's are brighter than the sun!
All that work and boom!
The next day I got to the shop and saw this!
Kinda of over cast day but with the really flat paint this Brooklands was just glowing!
Bling! At this point this I delivered the car back to a beyond excited owner!
Thank you for looking
