Not sure on the "okayness" of a link to another site, but I'll try it this once to see if it flies.

Process:

- 2-bucket Method Wash with Meg's GC

- Clay with Megs Clay using Final Inspection as Lube

- ISA wipedown to remove oils or anything else stuck to the paint

- Meg's Paint Reconditioning cream AIO for the majority of the vehicle applied via Griot's DA and Meg's Yellow Cross-cut polishing pad (The new one).

- Meg's Diamond Cut 2.0 Compound applied with wool pad and Chicago Tools (I know, I know...just shoosh) rotary x3 on hood and trunklid, then gone over with DA and Meg's Paint Reconditioning Cream AIO.

- Meg's Endurance Tire Gel for shine

- Meg's Wheel Brightener aggitated with several brushes for the wheels

Just as a precursor, I do exterior only work for a local used car lot. He gives me an assignment and I have as long as it takes to get it done. I usually try NOT to go over 15 hours per vehicle, but some just need more work. This one in particular took me 13 hours to get to where it is now with the hood and the trunklid taking about 5-6 hours to correct down to where it sits now. I have a set price depending on the size of the vehicle, so sometimes have to cut a corner or two to make a profit as I use my own products, so please, your critique on my correction work would be of great value to me.

Please click the link below for the pictures. Feel free to check out my other cars posted there as well, though I will make separate posts for each if this type of posting is okay. Thanks for looking!!!

Nice job, that black looks like a mirror.

Note:

To post your pics up on the forum use photobucket. The pictures can then be linked into the thread.

I'm confused as to the point here.. Where did the acid bath come into play? Didn't really see much of a process to crituque here. You list some basics but it dosen't really tell us much of how you went about it. What kind of corners are you cutting? And yea upload your photo's to a site like photobucket and link them to the other sites. Makes it much easier to see. No one really likes clicking links..Sometimes spam bots do that and get you caught in a loop of crap and it gets annoying.

I know how to post the pics up on photobucket, but linking 76 photos and resizing them all is so much more time than I'd like to commit to. Also, Hubgarage allows me to copy the pics to their site and they give me thumbnails, larger pics and full size pictures if you click on the larger pictures all with one site.

The acid bath is in the hood before I started. Not sure how else to explain what was going on there. I had to compound the hood 3 times then follow up with Meg's Paint Reconditioning Cream on my DA with Orange pad to buff out the hazing and trails left from the rotary and compounding stage. The etching left behind looked like someone splashed acid across the hood and didn't get it off quick enough before it actually cut through the clear.

I explained the process I used in the first post. I just 1-stepped the sides of the car with Meg's Paint Reconditioning Cream as that's all it needed to look good again. The only thing different you have to do is click the link and I don't give notes for every picture. I'd like the pictures to speak for themselves.

I cut some corners only because I'm putting 15 hours into a job that's only paying me enough to make less than minimum wage when you divide what I'm paid by the hours invested. So to make it just slightly quicker, I don't do door jams, or tape off very often so you may see some polish residue on black rubber, but I do go back and try to clean off as much of it as possible. I don't cut major corners, just small ones that could add up to an hour or more of time, further reducing my hourly income.

Okay, so I'm uploading these pics to my VERY old photobucket account...there are no pop-ups from Hubgarage, but I guess clicking a link is too risky for some folks. I'll post pictures and comments of the process as soon as they're done uploading. <sigh>

And thank you so much for your compliment Howareb. :D

Dont wanna rain on your parade, but if you dont want to take the time to post your pics for us to look at, then how would you expect us to click a link to a foreign website for you?:bolt

Please see the above post, but to explain why, because it takes me infinitely longer to resize, upload and post pictures to this site from photobucket than it does for you all to click a link that opens directly to the photo album with no pop-ups or adds at all and you can see a resized picture or the full-sized image for more detail.

You clicking 1 link takes 1 second and then you can leisurely hit the Next button to see all of the pictures where-as me doing all of the above takes an hour or more, but I'll conform to the standards of the forum.
