NXT = White Subaru OBW

I bought a PC last week and was dying to use it. So how does it go.... I read on Autopia to buy about 6 pads or so... did I listen? Nooooooooooo! :nixweiss

I bought this car about 3 weeks ago, and most of the car's finish was quite swirled and webbed - it looked pretty much like this:

I wasnt able to use my PC on the car, because I just got done doing the other vehicle with AIO and SG... leaving me no clean pads to use (as stated above) - so the Subaru was done by hand.

I am still quite amazed at the amount of swirling goes away after a single application of NXT:

Additionally, NXT seems to bring out quite a bit of the metallic nature of the paint, and makes the white pearl look a bit more gold:

I can only imagine what it will look like after doing a proper job with a PC.

And another thing... trying to take pictures of white vehicles is pretty hard because many of the whites end up being 'blown out'. I tried to crank down the exposure a bit, but still get some hot spots in the pictures and other parts end up being too dark. I guess I'll have to wait for a cloudy day for more.

I forgot to confess... Yes, I'm a PC n00b. And for you other n00b's dying to try a Porter Cable 7424, just buy one, get enough pads, do some reading here on Autopia, and then do stuff like this:

Both are 1x Klasse AIO and 1x Klasse SG

Oh - don't be a cheapskate like me -- remember to buy enough pads!

I think you can wash them and spin them dry at warp speed. Then you can reuse those pads. As for me, I bought a 7424 and cant wait for this sunday to try it out on a friends car. If I had a garage I sure would have tried it on mine a long time ago.

I will agree, the PC spin-dry method works well.... as long as one stays the heck away from whatever you just detailed :rolleyes:
