NXT wax after auto car wash

It could.

Touchless car washes clean by using really strong chemicals usually with a very high pH level. If you think about it, they build these systems to clean cars that potentially can be very dirty, so they use chemicals for the worst case scenario not your freshly waxed car.

Also, if a Touchless car wash is strong enough to remove NXT Tech Wax, it's probably going to remove most of any wax you apply.

My advise would be to wash it yourself if possible using a safe car wash.

A few years ago I detailed a fleet of company cars. All the cars were the same year, make , model, and color. Each employee was given "maintenance money" to keep the vehicle up. I guy took his car to the car wash every week. He had the car with the worst paint. It was faded and dried out.

That showed me that (at least at the car wash he was using) that the soap was really strong.

I just use it once in a while when the car isn't that dirty and just use one pass with no fancy stuff, the cheapest there is.

I guess in a way this could be a good way to get rid of wax without using Dawn or similar product

But then you are breaking the number one rule of detailing. Always move forward. Using a harsh soap to remove old wax is a backwards step. Using a good polish to remove old wax is a step forward.

Just something to think about. ;)

ScottWax, those were asolutely words of wisdom.

What you stated just really hit me and sunk in regarding the whole "wash with Dawn" or "strip the wax to start from the beginning" approach that I see so many other people stating on this and other forums.

I don't mean to be so dramatic about it, but these words of wisdom could only come from one with great experience in the art of detailing.

If I knew how to add in the "bowing smilie", I'd put several in this post.
