NXT vs Gold Class...

which is your favorite soap? In our hard water I find that NXT is much better. Cleans better and is slicker. NXT is also less expensive than GC.

I prefer GC over NXT,seems to have better lubricity, and the suds don't go 'flat' on me during the wash, like they have done when using NXT.However,as others have said,NXT does clean better compared to GC,not a huge difference, but it is probably a better soap for when the car(s) get very dirty.Although not directly related to your question,my favourite soap at the moment is FK#118,NXT and GC pail in comparison IMO.

I have used both NXT and GC..and found that NXT is a very harsh soap...but a good cleaner....I believe is it a high alkali soap which makes it work in hard water better...but the trade off is that it seems to attack LSP also...

GC is a nice soap...very slick...average cleaning..but gentle on the finish...but it does seem to leave something behind after the rinse...it claims to have a conditioner..and that may be it...2-3 days after a wash paint seems sorta grabby.....it may be just me....

My 2 go to soaps now are Groits and Dg901...both slick...gentle on LSP...leaves a nice finish...rinses clean....and cleans good...

I find both NXT and GC to be quality OTC shampoos. I prefer GC because I find NXT to be a fairly strong cleaner. Despite claims of not compromising LSP, durability goes down everytime I use NXT. In addition, GC is much a better value when bought by the gallon (which I have never seen for NXT).

Just as a side note, I'm pretty much a CG Maxi-Suds, Duragloss 901, or PB's SS&S user these days.

Hi all,

I've been using NXT for a while and liked it, but I accidentally noticed something the other day. There was a whitish residue on the front of the bottle where a little of the soap had dripped as I put the cap back on. I was going to rub it off (for some reason??) and felt a definite grit in it. Not in the '80' range, but just some very small abrasive particles. I though maybe it was something already on my hands so I repeated the test after being sure they were clean. My wife has a black SUV so I fight swirls. Now I wonder if NXT adds to my problem. Has anybody else noticed this?

Amen to that! Just used some with my FK sampler and WOW, best wash I've ever used. In fact, I only had to shoot the hose in it once after the initial filling to coax up some more suds(suds up VERY well). In comparison, I use 6 oz of Bubble Bath on an average sized car(need to refill bucket 3 times!), but use 2 oz of FK#118, which just blows the TOL out of the water.

Back on track, I prefer Gold Class, NXT just seems a bit too harsh to me. Both are pretty good OTC soaps, though.
