NXT Spray Booster Wax. Really hard to use.

I love how it looks!

BUT not how it works:(



I tried it several different ways.

Spray on, wipe with towel, let dry wipe off.

Spray on, wipe with foam pad, let dry wipe off.

Spray on foam pad, wipe, let dry wipe off.



If you spray it on, and miss wiping off any beaded droplets, they dry hard as a rock. Several passes with MF will not break them up.



If you put it on to thick at all. It takes 5-10 passes with MF to get it off. Not good.



I can do a coat of NXT with a PC and remove with an Ulitimate Bonnett, in half the time!:xyxthumbs



So tell me, why you would ever need a product like this? :confused:
 
I know a lot of guys seem to like it, but after trying it several times, with the last time being a complete disaster as far as removal, it is now possibly resting peacefully in a landfill somewhere. Of course, it was also almost accompanied by the NXT wash, fortunately Advanced Auto swapped it for some Eagle Wet car wash.
 
I don't mind the wash, it's another car wash soap. But, for me I agree that it's just as easy to put on another coat of wax. 'Course, that's how I feel about any spray wax, not just NXT.

At first I didn't like it because I could get the damn thing off properly. I made peace with it though. :p I use a foam applicator spray it then apply to a panel. You just have to make sure that you don't put too much where it has the little droplets. If you do just wipe with the foam to even it out. After I go over the whole vehicle I allow it to dry. If it's dry then it's a piece of cake to remove otherwise you can't seem to get it off. This has worked for me so far. I will say this though, if and when I'm done with this bottle, I'M NOT BUYING ANOTHER ONE!!! I agree with you guys, applying a coat of NXT is so much easier. :nixweiss
 
Meguairs Quick Detailer works very well on top of NXT. No streaking or smudging. Excellent gloss and shimmer!
 
I've been really puzzled hearing about people's difficulty with Booster Wax. I find I can do all the flat surfaces of the car in about 8-10 minutes. I DID find that the best method for me has been to shake it like crazy...frequently..and spray onto a MF applicator...work in ..THIN. By the time I've done the hood , roof and trunk, I can walk around removing with a plush MF. I've had absolutely no problem with booster wax. I've wondered if those having problems with it are shaking the bottle constantly while applying it? I have a feeling that Booster seperates quickly in the bottle.
 
I've used the Booster Wax once so far.I used it in a way that it's really not meant too but like others it works best this way.Just a quick spray into a folded MF (verus spraying on the paint first) and wipe on,one spray will do half a hood.It goes on real quick and comes off real easy.It's still a lot quicker than applying the NXT Tech Wax as others say you might as well do then.
 
Thanks for the tips folks! I tried it again last night (shake well, use sparingly, let haze, wipe off) and it worked a lot better. I believe my first couple of attempts and unhappiness was I applied the booster too thick. It then became awful to remove.



While I probably won't replace the booster, I'll be able to finish using the bottle.

The NXT booster works best when you spray it on a foam pad, apply and remove quickly. Spray it directly on the paint, and it is a PITA to use. Honestly, I can apply another coat of NXT (or maybe some #16) almost as quickly so that is my preferrence.
 
Strange - I've found that I can spray it directly onto the paint, work in straight lines with a foam pad (MF pad gives an even better & thinner layer) do the entire car, let it haze and then wipe straight off with my MF; no smears, streaks or smudges. Follow up with FD and it just shimmers nicely. Quicker than the NXT wax too as you don't have to wait 15 minutes or so to let it set up.



Maybe a climate thing? I did mine early evening, mild and dry and in fact just as I finished with the FD the roof and bonnet were starting to get a touch of moisture developing.



Left paint beautifully slick too - smoothest it's ever been.



Prep was minimal too - I'd used VMW and Tech wax 2-3 weeks ago and applied a further coat of Tech wax since, so just washed, dried and waxed - easy!
 
Maybe a climate thing? You could be right, I (FL) use it the same way as Scottwax (TX)
 
I don't like it!!!! It's hard to use unless you spray into a pad. Like erybody else said might as well use the regular stuff. Just MHO.
 
I've used it. I use it while my car is still wet though. After a wash I spray the booster wax and spread it with a damp microfiber towel panel by panel. Let it haze and then wipe off.I learned this method when i was using crystal guard. I have never had any problem removing the stuff using this method. Hope it'll work for you also.
