NXT over DG #105

What do you guys think? Is NXT a bad idea to put on top of duragloss #601 / #105. It seems like I heard that NXT has cleaning properties that could strip the duragloss.

If you want to use up the NXT , go ahead and use it, But for the winter I would use #105. It will last longer.

NXT will last one week or one wash whatever comes first. If you have 105 on your car why not use AW it is half the price of NXT and it is made for that purpose and adds pop to the 105. I think the AW will even last longer than NXT.

AW is one of the few spray sealants that has met what I am looking for:
  • Great looks
  • SLick
  • Ease of use (not thick ect)
  • No/minimal streaking
  • Great on sealant or carnauba
  • A definite boutique product available locally
  • And CHEAP by the Gallon (biggest peave of others that I like were there is no Gal option or ridiculously expensive; not warranting the price difference when compared to the results imo)

I use it after every wash and it really eliminates issues of durability for any LSP I choose to use (great for me as then I can focus only on which LSP gives me the shine I want:cool: ).

I would not advise it personally. I believe the NXT has some cleaning ability that could affect the long term durability of the DG 105.

I'm not one who has anything bad to say about NXT - I actually think it is a nice wax/sealant for an OTC. Since you already have it, I would just suggest using it on another vehicle until it's gone.

Summer before last I used NXT on my show car. It was easy to apply and remove and looked awesome on my black car but after one wash 50 percent of the gloss was gone. I used it most of that summer and waxed ever week but by the end of summer i got tired of waxing every week.
DG 105 looks just as good and lasts much longer and cost less. :bigups

Ya stick with Duragloss lineup the 105 polish is actually from there track claw line this polish was taken off the market a couple years ago then put back on consumer line and wow has it taken off.

The way to get nxt paste wax which is better than the liquid or the 21 to do its best is put over another sealant ; something like aquawax Meg's say will not bond to oily surface well. You should be able to get at least 2 months out of this if not 3 and a half.

I put a coat of 105 on my car today . 105 is a very very good product. It leaves a high gloss wet look finish. The reflections are outstanding. I didnt top it with AW. I will leave that till Friday after I give it a rince down or complete wash whatever it needs by then. I would hold up 105 aganst any o ther product. It spreads easy and removes easy. Truely a top notch product. ATT. Mongo

The Jacksonville Trooper Post had a surprise post - wide inspection today. I sure was glad I had just applied the DG #105 yesterday. I received numerous compliments on the look and feel of the paint on my patrol car. After today, I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with Duragloss for a while.
Some of the other cars were in terrible shape. Even some of the brand new 06 patrol cars looked terrible. My car is an 04 with 77,000 miles on it and it honestly looked better than any of the other cars in the parking lot.

Congrats on the nice patrol car hwypatrolman...The Duragloss products are very good ...I have tried many and I found my product I like... DuraGloss..

Now you need some Fast Clean & Shine to clean up the finger prints and get some Aquawax also for the shine and slickness boost and to keep the durability at top notch...

I orded some stuff today from DG...and was told they are working on a new type sealant...for next year maybe...

Larry how do you like the look of 105 verses Meg's 21 and aquawax ?

thanx mongo
I would say the look is very close. To me when I put on the 105 the look remined me of Mothers FX. The next day it looked much deeper like Poorboys EX or Megs 21. Either way the look is outstanding. I have not put AW over it yet. I would say that 105 is up there with the best of them, now if the durability is there that will be the bonus. From what I hear put on some AW every now and then and the shine will last a very long time.
