NXT or EX-P????

I was looking at pciking up some EX-P and was wondering which lasts longer and what looks better?

My car is a dark green also.....

I have used both products, and I must say when both are layed down on a well preped surface I'm far fetched to say wich looks better. Now I'm sure every responce on this forum will lean torward the EX-P for longevity. Over all look's & feel I would say there pretty close. JMO.

NXT is a OTC product.

EX-P is a "pro" product.

There about the same price.

I personally like ex-p but have not tried it on a dark color, I have used it on white and silver and they turn out great. I would say I get about 2 months out of it and that is not topping it with a lsp.

I have also used nxt and the finish is very good with it also but it did not last quit as long for me. The up side is you can usually get it about anywhere. Both are really easy to put on and take off. I dont think you could go wrong with either, if you do decide to go with ex-p I would also pick up some nattys blue as a topper for it, I hear it makes dark paints look very wet.

Good luck

Shawn

Considering that NXT is $29.99 for paste or liquid OTC or $25 for liquid online, EX-P is only 20 bucks.... I think ex-p is the way to go and I do have natty's blue here.

nxt is only 16 bucks.....dont know where you are over paying at, but try target, walmart, kragen, meguiars.com, autodetailingsolutions.com, etc...

but I am also toying with getting either of the two this week....most likely i will just order up some ex-p to give that a try since I havent used it yet and you can typically get a autopia members discount so it comes out to a little less than nxt!

I have alwayse seen EX-P used as the middle step between polishing and a carnauba topper, a friend of mine uses AIO or SSR then EX-P with a layer of nattys over it.

In canada NXT is a rip off and the cheapest online is 25 bucks.....

It's either another thing of natty's blue or ex-p...

Also on average how many cars can be done with a bottle of ex-p?

If you're deciding between Natty's and EX-P, I'd consider taking EX-P out of the equation and simply choosing EX. That way you're closer to comparing apples to apples since EX contains carnuba.

I can only guess at a number, but it'll take you a long time to exhaust a bottle of EX-P. I've still got ~ 2/3 of my original 16oz bottle, and I've easily applied a dozen coats.

I have tried NXT in liquid form and EX-P, my vote goes to EX-P. I get streaking from the liquid NXT very often on dark colour car, it could be I am not using it the right way but I do not this problem with EX-P.

I already have natty's blue and wondering what would look better under it, ex-p or ex.....

maybe if you are going to top with a carnuba, then get the EX-P, so that you can layer right away and not "waste" product....since you are supposed to wait between layers of carnubas....

Well, I have the "old" NXT, and the "old" EX-P. The NXT looks good, lasts 6-8 weeks, stains trim. The EX-P starts off very nice, slicker than NXT, IIRC, but drops off very quickly. The older (thicker) version that I have is difficult to apply thinly, and stains like a mofo...including the deadly "stealth" staining, which shows up days later.

I had the same findings as Mike when I used the older EX-P. I'm really careful to apply it super thin, and make sure to a second final wipe down now. I've used the newer version of EX-P+ once, and it seemed to last longer than the original version. I had nice beating on my mom's daily driver during the winter for a good 2-3 months, during that time it wasn't washed or QDed :cooleek:

If your only considering NXT or EX-P, I'd say go with EX-P just for the price. Not to totally throw you off but have you considered Meguiar's #21? I like it a lot, only thing is you might have a hard time finding a smaller bottle in Canada.

It's hard to get alot of Megs products in canada unless you wanna give up one week's pay for them.....

I think i will go ex-p but more opinions are always wanted.....
