NXT on

Well, finished my winter prep yesterday, paint already has a sealant on it, so i wanted to top w a good wax, of my current stock, S100, Pinnalce Paste Glaz, #26, and NXT, i went with the longevity of NXT vs the rest, results were impressive, after washing i inspected paint, seems to be in great shape, (always helps thats it new), next spring ill clay, re-polish/sealant, and top w wax, will prob layer as well. I did find the NXT a bit harder to buff off than previous, i applied to entire car, let haze for about 1/2 hr, im thinking i either applied to much, let haze too long, or not long enough? ended up using some quick detailer to help, im used to a no haze wax, such as S100 or PPG lol. anyways heres some shots, wish the sun was brighter though



Wash-Gold Class

Wax used-NXT Gen Tech Wax (Meguiars) 1 coat

Exterior Trim/Tires- 303 AP

Exhaust-Eagle one aluminium polish

That looks good...I like the new Sante Fe. I'd be anxious to hear how the paint does this winter...
 
NXT looks very good - especially on dark colors.



However, in my experience it is not very durable at all.



Also - NXT does have some cleaning properties and may very well have removed some/all of your underlying sealant already on the vehicle.



Hope you aren't planning on that NXT lasting you through a Canadian winter......

X2 is does look good though
 
X3, great looking detail though as well. Get some Zaino or Werkstatt on that badboy and it will be shining until May no problem.



Best solution? Move to CA. I lived in Boston for 4 years, love the snow...visiting that is. :usa
 
ive used NXT in the past, seems to be ok for the winter somewhat , and have used #20 as a sealant before hand, what would you rec on top of NXT???

wasnt aware it had cleaning properties? what would you rec i put on top of NXT?

Yeah - I would not recommend NXT as a winter sealant at all.



For the winter months I would go with a sturdy sealant like Klasse SG, Zaino Z-2 Pro, Duragloss 105 TPP or a durable carnauba like Collinite 845.



NXT is better for the summer time - where you can re-apply it every 3-4 weeks or so after washing your ride.
 
NXT seems to wash off every time I wash the car... and if for some RARE instance I don't wash my car each week, the NXT only lasts about 3 weeks; maybe 4 tops!!



It does look nice, and is super easy on/off!
 
well, locally i cant get any of those, i can get Klasse SG, from eshine.com think ill just order some, and apply on top, havent used Klasse or Collinite, would it be ok to just use Klasse SG for now, and not the AIO?
 
Klasse SG is a bit particular about what it will bond to.



The best bet is to get some AIO or Werkstatt Prime to get rid of everything else on the paint and put down a good base that the SG will definitely bond to.



If you don't use AIO or Prime first and try to put the SG on top of the NXT or some other product, the SG might not bond.



You should be able to use Collinite on top of NXT with no problems though.

Very mild cleaning properties. According to Mike Phillips of Meguiars, adding another coat of NXT on top of an already cured coat will leave more product than it removes.



If you can get your hands on some Meguiars #16, that would be perfect for topping NXT.

Thanks Scott, Meg #16 ill have to see where i can get some?
 
Meguiars #16 Professional Carnauba Paste Wax , never mind just found it on reviews section, does look like a great product, and i prefer paste over liquid wax, from what ive read, can be pita to remove and more importantly its discontinued
