NXT on the MGB (full size pics)

"last October I drove it from Florida to a show in northern Virginia by way of around 900 miles of back roads, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Skyline drive."

Awesome. I went to school nearby in Charlottesville, VA and love that drive!

looks like you got a thang for little rag tops! that last pic is really good. I like the backdrop...so good its hard to tell if thats a "cut and past job"!!!(compliment).

care to share your photography backgound??

vulturetec,

Talk about a SWEET car detailed to perfection! :bow :bow :bow

Deep, wet and rich to the Nine's! Great photography skills as well.

Keep up the superb work! :xyxthumbs

Cheers,

Thanks everyone... The car still looked like new after that trip (about 2200 miles in all). I'm in the process of detailing it for the first show of the season, this time with NXT paste and pinnacle souveran, pictures will no doubt follow!

re: photography -- I'm an aerial photographer by trade, but have been shooting everything from fine arts "scenic" photography to car races. The image here was shot with an Olympus E10 using a Vivitar 285hv for fill-light.

Here's another picture at the show a few days before the "mountain" picture. Made me really happy when people wanted to know where I parked the trailer followed by "you mean you drove this all the way from Florida and it looks like this!?" :)

Is that front bumper custom? I've seen the rubber ones and the chrome ones (my dad has an orange mgb), but never the painted ones.

Thanks Pats...

Ben: It's the original stock black "rubber" bumper sanded smooth and prepped for paint, then painted with the same clearcoat red that the rest of the car had (but with additives for flex). The paint is a little over 10 years old now and has a few stress cracks in it here and there, but very little. The original material wasn't really stiff or consistantly thick so any vibration or flex has taken its toll, but the bad areas aren't very noticeable.

The rear bumper is the same:

Thanks, I can't believe that is the original bumper! Wonder if I could paint the spoiler on my car; it is a similar material. I'd like to send a copy of the pics to my Dad for inspiration if you don't mind. He completely restored it and repainted it including wetsanding. Then he buffed it with a rotary and it has all kind of swirls, but they don't really seem to bother him. It bugs me because I know the car could look since there is really no orange peel and all the other body and mechanical issues have been well sorted.
