Let me know what you guys think. I am highly considering investing in a PC pretty soon. Doing this all by hand takes a long time.

Some info on the car for those that are interested.

-2004 Java Black Pearl (Yes its factory paint) Subaru WRX

-Only mod is authentic STI wing (came with it, should I keep it or go wingless/stock wrx wing: I'm not sure yet, let me know what you think)

-I found this car sitting on a used car lot in VA. It had been sitting there for 4 months.

-Paint was kind of scary at first; it took me three weeks to wash this car. First two weeks I owned it was just way to cold and dam to be washing it, but I still wanted it clean. Finally the weather broke on the third week the clouds parted and the sun came out :)

-I am in search of the discontinued 3M Pink Fill'n Glaze, anyone know where I can find it or what 3M replaced it with. What is your favorite product to use?

I'm in Bethel Park PA, just south of Pittsburgh if anyone is in the area PM me.

Questions comments?

nice! - love the color - yah a PC makes it gooo so much faster (application wise) but by the time you add in pad changes, taking it out, cleaning the pads when done - ;) - it can be just as long - just less muscle needed :lol

Nice Ride and Nice Detail! I love the way you captured the flake in the paint.

You might want to go to www.xat.com to download their free image optimizer. It's free and you will be able to resize the pics so all viewers can see.

Nice car, and nice detail.

However, Gold Class has cleaning agents in it, and will diminish the durability of NXT-- next time, you may want to try the High-Tech Yellow Wax (#16). Is that an STi or did you put the STi wing on it? The wheels don't look like the BBS stock STi wheels, and I don't see any STi badging. In either case, great detail, and good capturing of the detail of your... detail.

i'd wager that it's a normal WRX...tires make such a huge difference on the car that replacing the BBS w/decent tires with 16" WRX rims w/re92's is almost sacrilege.

nice detail though...

Yellow Wax is #26.

Pro Paste Wax is #16. I presume you meant this one.

First off I edited the original post up top.

Ok guys resized the pictures, finally got some free time today. Here is the rest.

Notice the garage queen hiding behind the garbage cans in the background. I’ll be dusting the cobwebs off of her soon, pictures to come.

Yep, 1996 Triple Black Corvette Grand Sport 6spd. It has been driven a total of 137.8 miles in the past 3 years. Mostly to get inspection and such. Generally only sees the driveway to get started on the weekends when the weather is nice.

There is a pretty dramatic difference in the power bands of each vehicle. Each has its own character that makes them a joy to own and drive or not drive in some cases :)

disque71,

That is one fine ride you have! ! ! :bow :bow :bow

I really love how the metalflake just JUMPS out of the paint! ! !

The depth and the reflections are just awsome. Keep up the fine detailing and post some pics of that vette when you get at chance! :xyxthumbs

Cheers.

disque71 - sorry for what may be a dumb question, but what keeps you from driving that Corvette just for the thrill of it on the weekends? 138 miles over 3 years? I'm not flaming you or anything, and maybe I'm missing the point of owning such a fine car, but does it give you more pleasure to just own it rather than strap it on and drive it around every now and then? I guess if it were mine, I couldn't help but want to take it for a spin as often as I could.

Wheel wells: Most definitely need detailed, no excuses, will be doing them this weekend. I’m thinking about removing the wheels. What kind of stuff should I used to detail them?

As far as the Vette, there was only a very very small amount of this specific type of Vette produced in the last year of C4 production. So I am hoping it will someday be worth something. But I am also considering selling it for something like a '69 Camaro, not sure yet.

For wheel-wells, Megs Engine Kote is supposed to be very good as it dries onto the plastic giving a satin finish that is very durable. This is what I'm gonna be trying soon when funds allow (it's alot more expensive over here in the UK, as is everything!).

I'm currently using a cheap tyre foam shine, but that's obviously not very durable, so it has to be done on regular basis to keep them looking good.
