NXT by Machine

I can understand now why Mike Phillips applies and removes NXT by machine - PC.

I redid the hood and the convex surfaces of my black Santa Fe with #09, #81 and NXT with a PC. There IS a difference - subtle perhaps, but a visible increase in the shine and depth of the surface.

The exercise has made me more of a believer than before.

I have also done NXT both ways. Future application will be by PC and that includes the Spray Wax Booster. PC allows effortless thin coats and product efficiency ( product used and mild cleansing). :xyxthumbs

Do you guys use a polishing pad or a finishing pad when you apply NXT with a PC? Do you use any QD at all during your application?

I guess I'm one of the few people who've had some trouble getting NXT to apply evenly. On the two black cars I've used it on (one clearcoated and one not), I get smeary shadows over about 25% of the surface that are very difficult to remove after I remove the product haze. They are visible only outdoors under sunlight. Maybe PC application will eliminate this shadowy smearing.

Application by PC with a polishing pad. Removal with a fresh pad with a MF towel loose on the pad.

I use the white pad for NXT for the initial coat and the grey pad for additional coats and the Spray Wax. No QD and moisture on pads. :wavey

I've applied NXT will a PC and a Meg's 8006 polishing pad (the yellow one) on several dark colored vehicles and give it a thumbs up!:up As blkZ28Conv stated it makes it much easier to apply thin, even coats with this product.
