Nuba on Opti seal

I would like some feedback/recommendations if :

1. Will topping Opti-seal with a wax improve the shine/durability?

2. Which wax would you recommend?

Thanks for you your help.

Thanks DJ.

What about paste waxes? Like Midnight Sun or Fuzion?

Will OCW give me similar output as more expensive waxes?

Topping will improve the depth, not really the shine, OS is pretty glossy. What you will lose is the great dirt shedding ability of OS once you wax it. I also like OCW, great carnauba looks without all the work, though, if you are going all the way, CG50/50 is my absolute favorite wax.

So, more depth but less slickness?

The CG 50/50 can be used to top OS?

Wax will actually feel more slick, but OS and UPGP both seem to shed dirt better than almost anything. It just does not stick to it. Why don't you try it and see if you get the same result on a panel or two. I used 50/50 on top of OS, no issues, its a very balanced wax, great shine, depth AND range.

Thanks Yakky.

I might give that a shot.

I've also noticed some deals going on at Autogeek, espcially the Fuzion.

Have you (or anyone) tried the Fuzion?

I rarely use paste waxes as my personal preference is Blackfire Sealant, Menzerna Power Lock, OR Opti-Seal topped with OCW. I use one of those 3 combination's on every car unless the owner request and supplies a certain type of wax. Just remember, ANY sealant or wax will look great on a polished surface.

DJ, that's where we'll have to agree to disagree, I believe some LSPs look very special on some paints. I've tried enough different waxes on my cars to know that some are an absolute hit, while others add very little. What looks great on my dark blue Audi (CG50/50), doesn't look spectacular at all on my silver Mercedes, on that, a sealant really works well, like FMJ or Blackfire. I currently have over 30 LSPs in my arsenal and only two polish systems, well, because I wax a whole lot more than I polish! I know you really don't have the time to swap waxes on customers cars, time is money!

1. A carnauba seems to change the shine, but not really improve it, IMO. Opti Seal gives a glossy look to be sure. A layer of wax on top of OS should improve the durability of the OS. Essentially a protective layer for the underlying protective layer...

2. I applied Blackfire Spray Wax to my red car a couple of days ago. One of the panels had Opti Seal on it. I was hard pressed to tell the difference between a panel that had OS with Blackfire on top from a panel that had just Blackfire on it.
