Finished the car last night and now I have a few more questions. . .

Had quite a problem with PB PwC & EX-P dusting. I was using the PC @4 ~5, but it was hard to see if it was "'hazing" on the paint. When we wiped off, there was very little residue to remove. Did we overwork it with the PC, hence the dusting?

This morning the car looks great, except for all the white dust that settles out of the air in the garage - sure glad the cars aren't black!! I'm assuming that will blow away the first time we drive the car, and reappear next time it's in the garage - any way to avoid it, other than work outside - not really an option - PB products may be fine to use in the sun, but I'm not!!

I've now used all my pads (between the V & the Pinnacle test), how should I care for them - I know I asked this before, but I didn't realize how dirty they would look, so I'd like to at least wash them to remove the excess product before storing. They are Megs velcro. I have marked them, so I won't "cross-contaminate" with other products, but they don't look "pretty" any more.

That's all I can think of for now.

You shouldn't work either the PWC, or EX-P until it dusts. With the PWC, just apply it with a polishing pad with the PC on 3 - 3.5 if you want a little more cleaning........ use a finishing pad (or by hand) if you don't want much cleaning from the PWC. Apply the EX-P (or PWC) with a finishing pad with the PC set on 3 or so. Don't "work" the EX-P product at all............. it is a protective coating.

Oh, my bad!!

- But it was so neat the way it spread/worked compared to when I did it by hand - I guess I just got carried away . . . next time, I'll know better!!

In the meantime, this dust is driving me crazy!!! Gonna have to take the car out for a drive today, and try to blow some off to make room for more!

With "any" product that leaves some "dust", it's always advisable to have some S & W or another QD close by. You can mist a little on the MF, and wipe up the dust as you are polishing/waxing.

Actually, now that you mention it, I do recall reading something about that, but I guess in the excitement of the PC, didn't think of it - oh well, we live & learn.

I'm really new at using a PC but here's the regimen that I've used thus far for cleaning foam pads and results have been good.

I put the pads in a bucket of soapy water & let 'em soak for a while, then squeeze the pads a few times underwater, rub the surface of the pad by hand underwater, lift the pad out of the bucket & squeeze it dry, and then repeat in a fresh bucket of soapy water.

Do the soapy bucket thing at least 2x, perhaps 3x, and then do a 4th time in a bucket of clean water, no soap. The sealant (EX-P, UPP, FMJ,SG) pad will probably be the toughest to clean thoroughly.

Mount 'em on your buffer & spin em if you want ..... you'll get wet.

I squeeze the pad dry as much as I can then put it individually on a towel face down, lay a towel over it and press down ... repeat until mostly dry & then let air dry.

Do the next pad on a dry part of the, towel etc ............

Let them air dry.

When dry, I put the pad back in the plastic bag it came in. I mark the bag with the product that I used to eliminate the possibility of cross-contamination.

Probably going to pick-up some large zip-loc bags for the sake of uniformity & 'cause the original bags are looking a bit sad.
