Noticable difference on White after QD?

I tried out a QD (#34 Final Inspection) for the first time on my White 2000 VW Golf, and to be honest I didn't really notice any difference, except for some slickness. Car was detailed a month ago with 1ZPP and S100 wax. The car still looked pretty good after the wash today, but the QD after didn't seem to make any difference. :nixweiss

Is it normal for white to not be responsive to a QD because of it's relative inability to show depth? Or is something wrong here?

Thanks for the input:up

White sucks!

- just kidding, I've got that color too. Try using some EO wax-as-u-dry on next time - you will be surprised by the results. Depending on what you're using, the WD won't really improve the look right after you've washed the car.

I would just apply another coat of S100 to keep it looking good. I would apply QD between wax coats. Unfortunately, carnuba does not last very long.

I'm inclined to agree with andriver: Carnaubas generally don't last very long. If you applied S100 a month ago, no QD (even one as nice as #34 FI) will be able to resurrect it. On my white Jag with Zaino, the shine and slickness last for months and months. Maybe you need to begin considering sealants instead of just waxes.

Thanks for the info guys.

What would be the advantage of using a sealant in this situation?

And Lynn: did you notice that the car looked/felt better after using a QD over the Zaino?

Most carnaubas last weeks. Good sealants (like Zaino and Klasse) last months. You get a lot more protection. Also, in my experience with Zaino, it repels birdbombs and other assaults better than a carnauba does.

OMG YES! :scared Zaino did good for me. Then when I re-washed, the Z looked nice. But when I followed the wash/dry routine with the Z QD, it was amazing how much bang I got for the buck. So , yes and double-yes. :up

white is hard to get right

AIO + SG

even though it looks decent SG has to be my least favorite product to apply and take off (yes, I have done WOO and 1hr and 2hr cure times, all sucked.. even w/ like .5oz/coat)

edit: don't inspect impressive results when QD with FI, as it does not contain very many shine enhancers or waxs, it mainly just cleans the surface off. Final DETAIL will give better results

White is easy to get right! Just apply polish, Zaino, and enjoy the results.

Heck! It even looks good when the car's up on a tow-truck. :o

I don't think you can top Zaino with a polish???

I do havw 3 white cars and it's hard to get them shine, I had Zaino on my 97 Integra, it's pretty shiney but Zaino is lack in slickness. I will strip the Zaino this weekend and try VM/VMW combo to see how it looks.
