Note to Self, don't let parents use my truck.

I have recently been letting my dad use the blazer for about a month or two now, as he's between vehicles. As of since, I haven't been home much, as I've either been working, or at school.

Well today, I finally had a break, so I was going to go take a look at the blazer and wash the truck. Well to my horror, half the stuff didn't actually come off when I washed the truck. The hood was so eched from a bunch of pipes that burst on top of the truck, it didn't look red anymore. Supposudly he didn't want to tell me, since he thought it would just wash away.

So the processes were:

Clay certain areas.

SSR 3!!! on LC Polishing pad PC on 6.

SSR 2 on 3M cutting pad on 5.

Topped with Klasse + NXT.

Windows had to be polished twice with 3M compound.

Tires got some hotshine

Rims were scrubbed.

Trim got Poorboys Trim Restorer (great stuff I might add)

I'd like to see what actually burst on this thing, as it turned the tires brown.

There were some areas on the roof that now have imprints of leaves that won't come out. :nono

Well here are the pictures:

No more eching! I was very displeased with him, and I had a conversation about it. Now we're not speaking, go figure.

Anyways, let me know what ya think, I wish I could have gotten it looking new again today, just doon't have the time.

Nice turnaround on the paint. That etching looked nasty.

The mind just boggles at the possibilities of the conversation one could have after loaning Dad a car and he messes it up.

You know, Dad, driving is a privilege, not a right.

If you can't be more responsible, I'll just have to take the keys.

Would you treat your own car like this?

and on and on.

Not that I would do so, but the irony of it tickles my funnybone.

Great recovery on your Blazer Steve. I think if it was mine and I found out what my Dad had done you would have heard me swearing in Manitoba! I can't believe he didn't want to tell you what happened. As your Dad knows what you do you'd think he'd want you to know asap so you could get it off the paint.

I wouldn't worry about him not speaking to you, he'll come around. You're not the one who did anything wrong.

Hope you're keeping cool!

Well as you can see in my avatar, I think I need anouther drink... :p

Conversation went as follows:

me:"What the hell did you do to my truck!"

Dad: "oh something burst on it at work, I quickly rinsed it down, but I was in a hurry"

me: "Wow, last time you're touchin my vehicle again"

Dad: "Its a POS anyways"...

HAHA :rofl

That's the funniest thing I've read today. My Dad says the same thing when I point out a newly found scratch or ding on the Lexus. "It's a God Damned ten year old car G.A. Leave it the hell alone!"

Then we don't talk for a while.

Nice turn around on the Blazer. Stuff like this makes me nervous when Mom and Dad take the SC out to dinner and stuff.

Yeah, my mom is the same way about my truck, and her car both for that matter. She fights me every step of the way about the stuff I do to vehicles, and even tries to tell me I am "not allowed" to do certain things with detailing, especially on customer cars (she doesn't even like that I am doing it for money -- even though it makes it so I can buy all my own stuff). I just blow it off and do it anyway.

How old are you?

LOL I remember being that way.

When I was 13 I guess my parents got a new Explorer that I really liked, in fact it was that truck that got me into detailing in the first place. To detail and care for a car that someone else drives is a...difficult thing. Especially when its a parent that you can't exactly set "guidelines" for LOL. My dad used to take it hunting and skiing...used to make me cringe.

The thing is, its my truck...

Well...but its not. When I was your age I had a new Explorer but it wasn't really "my truck" because while I drove it primarily it got used by my parents when they wanted to use it. It became truly mine a few years later when I became independent of them.

Thats just how parents are, they just don't get it sometimes. The time will come when everything thats yours is truly yours trust me.
