Some really dumb person/s went up and down my street late Friday night and plastered about 10 cars on each side of my street with raw egg. They basically hit the same spots on each car, left front fender and left front window/mirror. They got my wife's Toyota Echo. She got up to go to work on Saturday at about 7:30 pm and woke me up. Since she was in a hurry, I just put some spray and wipe on it. It rained later that day and I think it was good for the egg, because she later called me and told me that she forgot the key to her steering wheel lock and I had to bring it to her. The rain had softened the egg and since I didn't have any chemicals with me, I asked her for the bottle of Sprite that she was carrying and I used that and some Kleenex to wipe off the rest of the egg. It call seemed to come off ok, and when she got home I finished it up with Bug Squash, degreaser FK 121 ultimate cleaner, and clay. It all came off,
But, the neighbors across the street didn't notice that their cars had been egged until about 2 days later. On Sunday, I saw my neighbor come out of his house, a young kid about 23, and I asked him if he knew that his car had been egged. He didn't. So, I helped him get it off with the same stuff that worked on my wife's car. He had never heard of clay, and after I showed him how to use it, he was still claying his WHOLE car about one hour later. He was really impressed with it. I even gave him a couple of microfibers in exchange for the......T-Shirt (!!) he was using to dry his car. I got to meet him a little and he said that his car has mechanical problems, so he doesn't really drive it. Turns out he told me a little about himself.....just lost his job, (marketing), they denied his unemployment, his mother was just diagnosed with cancer....and on top of that someone eggs his car! Well, throughout the whole thing I got to at least meet one more neighbor.
I did search on detailcity about removing egg after my wife had gone to work, and it scared the hell out of me since most people were talking about sanding it off and repainting. But thankfully, I didn't need to do that. Oh, by the way, he got all the egg off of his car and when I saw it from across the street, man was it shining!
Well, that's how I spend part of my weekend.
