Not quite perfect yet (pic)

Sad little man

Well, over the weekend I finally got a rotary polisher. Works pretty well, but this is still about as good as I've been able to get my finish. Still has a few swirls, and more importantly, those little spots all over it. Highway sand blasting? I used my polisher at about 200RPM with megs DACP, speed glaze, and that really light "polish" in their three step line (step #2). And it has a coat of Z-2 and Z-5 on it. Is there any getting it better than this without seriously grinding off some of the clear?

And for reference, the whole pic...

Hey, seems like I haven't seen you posting here much lately :wavey

If you're *really* using 200rpms IMO you need to crank it up higher, that's just too low.

I'm not an expert on #83 but you may very well need something more aggressive.

And FWIW, I never found the #80 all that rotary-friendly.

*And* the Deep Crystal step #2 Polish is totally nonabrasive so I wouldn't bother using it with the rotary (lest the pad itself maybe induce holograms).

Gee, the about sounds sorta negative, huh? OTOH,I bet the finishlooks a *LOT* better! And maybe the pitting is just something you have to live with. I have that on the M3 and there's no way to fix it without a paintgun.

A little, more aggressive, additional work oughta get a lot of that residual marring out, even if you are stuck with the pitting. But I commend you for your nice conservative approach :xyxthumbs

Oh, and I'm a little surprised that the Zaino worked OK over the trade secret oils/etc. that the Meg's stuff left behind
