Not my usual BIG detail but turned out quite nicely!

Here's some pics of my baby after washing and waxing yesterday.



Process went like this:



-Washed with Duragloss CWC

-Clayed with Mothers Cali Gold

-Washed with Duragloss CWC

-Applied Duragloss Polish Bonding Agent

-Waxed with Duragloss Clear Coat Polish #111

-Topped off with a spray of Duragloss Aquawax



Never been able to get my silver Grand Prix looking so wet! Now I know why DG calls it the "Original Wet Look" polish!

completely by hand. I will at some point this year do a big detail where I'll take a whole day and do some polishing too and break out the PC. I was going to do that this time but it was SO hot and humid and it was supposed to rain all weekend... which of course it hasn't yet. So this was actually done quick and in just a couple hours. Still looks good today, nice and slick too! I'm madly in love with Aquawax. After driving around today I used a little California Gold QD to clean off the dust and applied some more Aquawax. Amazing stuff! Thanks for the compliments.



And in case anyone wonders, I used Mothers FX Tire Shine on the tires... love that stuff.
 
What year is that Pontiac? You obviously take very good care of it in order for it to clean up so easily by hand. I'm doing a 2004 black Ford Taurus in the morning. I hope it turns out half as good as yours did, man.
 
It's a 2001. Have about 87,000 miles on her now. I've owned it since 2004. So it was in pretty good shape when I bought it. I've had to do some polishing to correct a few areas and it cleared it up some but I'm also still learning some tricks and so fourth. But yea, she's my baby. I spent a lot of money on her just after graduating high school and want her to last!

Gotta love DG 111. My first bottle came from a little auto parts store that does not sell much wax etc. They had some very old Mother's stuff and a few Duragloss items. I noticed that the box was different (red Porsche 911 instead of black T-Bird) than what was on the DG website. I called them and was told that it was probably about ten years old and they insisted on sending me a new bottle. Their customer service is top notch. Well the old stuff is indeed a different color but seems to work fine. I also love DG 105, but actually prefer 111. That Mother's FX Tire Shine sure is nice also. Too bad it's so hard to find.
 
I detailed one of these about a month ago. It was the same body style and color. There is something about them, they always look immaculate after a detail. It must be the rock hard clearcoat, the powder coated wheels, and the crystal clear lamps.

Thanks. I love my car, it may not be anything super expensive but hey I'm 24 and can say I bought and paid for a $10,000 car right after graduating high school on my own. And now that it's been over 4 years since I fully paid it off, I can enjoy it and I have a little extra cash to spend on keeping her clean! I plan to make this baby last. The headlights still need some work on my car, I've already used Meguiars Headlight Restoration Kit which did ok, not quite as good as I expected.
