Not impressed with PC/yellow pad and 3M SWR

Just did my car today. Ive got miinor swirls and really minor pitting on the roof (don't know what that's from. can only see it at certain angles under the light). The car is a bmw and is about 2 years old. Had to go over it a bunch of times and it still did not get it off. The imperfections were dulled out a bit, but not gone. I thought this was pretty agressive, but apparently not. Should I go with a more agressive polish? What do you guys recommend? I don't think I should have to sit there polishing over and over again. Seems like a waste of time since it doesn't seem to help much.

Sounds like you may need to step up to a slightly more aggressive polishing material. I usually use 3M's Finesse It II for those swirls that SMR won't take out. Just be sure you work it until the abrasives break down completely. You may get some slight hazing at that point so following with SMR will finish the job up. Then you can follow with a glaze or wax or polymer of your choice.
